[the ashes] test 3. Manchester

Australia had a poor start and did not recover.

I think they (the Aussies) will have a great chance in Australia. England might actually play some positive cricket in the last 2 tests.

England play their best cricket when they are more attacking.

Going to be a belter 8-)

The Only time, we thank the british weather !! thank you rain, Gerrin !!:-D:-D:-D

Love that 8-) beating the Aussies and retaining the Ashes in any way is class. This feeling sorry for them/wanting them to win is ridiculous.

15 runs and 4 hours rain from possibly being 1-2. Fine lines.

Anyone think they'll rest Jimmy for either a test or all the ODI's before going to Australia?

I think Swann will call it a day too in the shorter format and concentrate on the tests.

Hope we get the weather for Durham later this week.

I think Bairstow will be under pressure for the next game. England have the players to be more positive and they were dragged down to Martin O'Neill negativity by trying to protect their 2-0 lead. Even if they had no intention of chasing the target they could have at least shown the opposition that they were attempting to chase it rather than giving them the confidence to get the upper hand.

Might as well rest them for the rounders, it's a pointless waste of time anyway so better not to risk injuries for some games that serve no purpose other than to be a bit of a laugh.

as expected, a very flat feeling officially retaining the urn as a result of rain.

No on field celebrations to witness, no jubilant crowd, no deflated looking Aussies. No memorable moments to look back on.

No potential for a whitewash and a dead series for the rest of the summer. Cricket will now slip back to eight pages from the back of the popular papers and another opportunity to capture interest of youngsters passes by.

A drawn test was the worst possible outcome for the series as a whole but to do it as a result of rain is just crap. Sod off Manchester

Exactly - 16 f***ing years. I think people who feel sorry for them even weren't born or have no real interest in cricket

no sympathy at all for the Aussies. England fully deserve to retain the urn on the back of the first two test victories

No real fan of the game of cricket would have want to see an Ashes series effectively brought to an end by rain.

You can't control the whether, so will take what we are given and we have the ashes and that'll do me.
