I don't know the rules of cricket (apart from the easy things like overs and wickets), so can anyone tell me why that wasn't given out?

Umpire thought it was sliding down leg and therefore missing the stumps.

On the review more than have the ball has to be hitting the stumps to overrule an umpires decision. Such was the case there.

Unlucky for the aussies has the umpire could have given that out and the review would have gone against us.

The DRS flaws shown up again - surely it is either out or not. This Umpire's Call nonsense is ridiculous
Apparently there changing that part of it. And I completely disagree because the system isn't 100% accurate so for balls which may just be clipping the stump the umpires call still has some power for marginal calls.

I'd say we've got two batsmen to reliably save us here, if Bell and KP are skittled then no-one after them is going to stay in long enough against an aggressive field.

So once again we're relying on one or two not just to post a total but to save the innings. This is why England aren't as good as people think they are. On paper we've got a good batting line up, but in reality we've only really got three at present who can play reliably well.
