The 2026 FA Cup šŸ†

Ricky villa is my first fa cup memory.
Palace to retain the cup.
Sunderland knocked out by palace in quarters.
No one from lower leagues is getting past 5th round

We will go far this time, I can sense it. Convinced our big summer signing is still to come too.

If we are in a comfortable-ish position going into January there is no reason for us not to go for it.

I can’t see us taking any interest in the cups. Hopefully we’ll be in a dogfight for survival so any extra games won’t be part of the game plan especially given we will have half of our squad away in Africa when the 3rd round is played.

Notts County vs Shildon, first round proper in about 2001?

By chance I was in Nottingham and decided to go at the last minute. When I got to the ground it had kicked off about 5 minutes earlier and the turnstiles were all closed. A bloke in high viz let me in through a fire escape. Never asked for a ticket or money or anything.

Shildon lost 7-2. Probably the highest scoring game ive been to

Gets underway this weekend with the extra preliminary round launching this years competition.

Who do you fancy to win it this season?

How far will SAFC get?

Outside bet (non premier league club) to make the semi finals or better?

Special none SAFC fa cup memory from your childhood?

Spurs
4th round
Wrexham
Sutton United beating Coventry and watching the highlights on MOTD
An extra like for reminiscing about Sutton United beating the sky blue filth..

Chelsea to win it this season.
Outside bet for semi final - Birmingham
SAFC - 3rd round as RLB not interested in cups.
Blyth Spartans FA Cup run 1978.

Also as a child I remember the series of games between Oxford City and Alvechurch went to around 5 replays before there was winner. The likes of Pep, Klopp, Wenger, would be seething that this ever happened.

Bobby Stokes Southampton v Man U was an early memory.
First final i can really remember tbh, i remember the celebrations in '73, the town with the parade and everything but not the match, I was only 5 tbf.

Spurs to win it
5th round for us
Salford the surprise (knocking the Mags out along the way 😁)

Houchen diving header for some reason always sticks in my mind

Great question Jarvis. Topical. Logical and thought provoking.

Liverpool
Quarter finals
Coventry
Paul Rideout scoring vs Man Utd sticks out as my earliest FA Cup memory

Would love us to go on a good run problem is starts just after Christmas when we lose a few to the African cup of nationsšŸ˜ž

Liverpool
Round 4
Sheff Utd
RIcky Villa ..say no more.. great goal in any game nevermind a cup final

Special memory - watching on MOTD Colchester defeat Revie's Leeds and Chelsea defeating Revie's Leeds at Old Trafford.
I suggest us having a cup run a little while back and got laughed at my multiple posters. If we can’t compete as a premier league team then we’ve got no hope. I would take the FA cup over survival.
I would even take the League Cup over survival and would have done so when we played City in the LC final.
