His position is so important in the Prem though I don’t think he would have coped. Used to take an age on the ball.
 
I feel he could have been given more of a chance this season. I wonder if that’s because the club knew his mind was made up about moving on at the end of his contract.

He was one of the few positives in our darker days though, and achieved what many players would have dreamed of in captaining his club to promotion.

I’ll be interested to see where he goes post-Ipswich loan.

Made a hell of a highlights package without showing some of his assists in his breakout season or his involvement in the reading goal.

Good luck Dan, been a cracking player for us and a big part of the reason we’re where we are now.

I’d like to have seen him get more minutes too, but the drop off from xhaka to Neil is just too big, especially when we’ve not been out of sight in games. That said, now xhaka is out, I’d have had him starting in his role over hume.
