Test squad Zimbabwe (and let’s make it the match thread)

Yeah they are different and the balls been doing more too, basically spun has played no part, it’s interesting

In their decence theyve always said they want one skillful seam bowler, Jimmy then Woakes with Potts backup
It’s interesting that we’re not that far away and there are relatively few players locked in to play

Duckett, Root, Brook. Stokes (if fit). Smith (probably, albeit your point on the hype is well taken)

bowling wise it’s massively up in the air. Put your house on someone to start the first test, it’s not a great bet for any

True. That comes with playing the most test cricket in world. It’s a not talked about aspect, Australia hardly play really, we play so much, and with more games comes inconsistency and pressure

Fast bowling is cross your fingers, there’s a lot of numbers tho so we only need some fit, tongue, Carse, archer, wood, Atkinson, Potts, Woakes and I guess cook

It’s a lot, hopefully they make it

I know he’s only played five white ball games, but Cox looked a million miles away from being an international player in those matches.

Hope he proves me wrong if he does get a chance in the summer as the management clearly fancy him.
Can't play the short ball, got found out very quick

Not sure about this myself, he has struggled loads for the lions, which is played on quicker pitches and bouncier ones

I guess they are just taking a look

Doesn't seem their usual type of batsman but he has scored consistent runs and can keep, so definitely an option worth looking at. The innings he played earlier in the week to get them home against Essex shows signs of him handling pressure well too.

Yep I guess clearly a big talent, we probs do lack that style of batsman just April CC is a diff sport to test cricket

Feel for Cox mind that’s happened twice now
