Test squad for Pakistan

From what we know, his lifestyle isn’t the best. Maybe it’s a body thing, my hunch is that it’s also an attitude thing

Maybe I’m unfair but who knows

Regardless, a shame

First time I think it’s fair but he has put the work in, you can see that just by looking at him

Personally I’d have him in all the white ball sides, less work, and I’ve seen him for Sussex this year, was brilliant in t20

Not seen him this year personally. But I don’t think it was just first time was it?

If he’s changed then I’m sure they wouldn’t discount him

When he came back against SA before Pakistan he’d lost a few stone. He clearly rubs some up the wrong way. I’m just not convinced his body can handle it regardless of how hard he works, however I might be wrong
Where is the proof he can bowl 90 mph never seen him nudge 87mph? They quote loads of bowlers as being fast to me that’s regularly over 90mph of which England have only 2.

Both very fragile in Wood and Archer tje likes of Stone and Atkinson are lively pace but not out and out fast.

To me Hull has to improve a hell of lot in every aspect before he’s close to this level. I don’t think Carse will ever be test at standard with the ball no accurate enough and he struggles to stay fit.

All 3 bowled superb reverse swing spells in that series.

Bowling fast is consistent 85/86 in reality

It’s what the likes of Cummins do

We’ve always lacked those, ours are low 80s

People like Wood are once in a generation freaks

There’s an argument wood is the fastest bowler of sll time consistently

Robinson should be on the trip, arguably both of them. Really think Robinson has to pull up trees to get back in for the India series.

Carse shouldn't be there but I think he's cover for Atkinson.

Hull is being groomed for a spot in Australia and they are fast tracking his development as he's a left armer and a bean pole.

Hartley is unlucky to miss out but Rehan offers legspin and has been batting at 5 for Leicestershire.

Leach deserved the recall.

Think Woakes has these two tours to prove he can offer something in Australia.

Think they will pick Leach, and rightly so. But also think they can see Rehan batting much higher up.

Robinson is clearly now toast. It’s such a shame, not that I have much sympathy, I can’t immediately think of a more unfulfilled talent in English cricket for non performance reasons
Rehan can certainly bat but like you, I'm not convinced with him as a bowler. Leach I think is our best spinner.

Hartley and Bashir both did ok in India and pretty similar figures. I prefer Hartley personally. Ahmed just offers something different I suppose.

Put Ollie Robinson debate aside, how has Sam Cook been overlooked again when he could be the replacement for Woakes

I know Pakistan aren’t great but I’m not convinced that bowling attack we have is potent enough in those conditions.

Love Chris Woakes and he should always play in England but I have no idea why they have picked him for this tour

There’s nobody obvious missing bar Robinson tbf

I agree it looks weak tho

Fair points

As said earlier Carse is a genuine all rounder in my view.

Think he could bat 7 if stokes doesn’t make it

It’s not nailed on stokes makes it

I hope Azam Khan is playing for Pakistan
He won't be. His dad Moin Khan has been kicking off about the PCB's shoddy treatment of the lad.

Mate..."he's only playing international cricket because he's your son. If you had kept him away from the buffets when he was younger then he might have had a better run of it."
If anyone was thinking of flying out last minute.

They've finally announced the schedule

What are we all saying? 3-0 again?

Pakistan won't be as bad as they were against Bangladesh.

We don't have as decent of an attack as we did last time.

Lost 26/60 wickets taken in the form of Jimmy, Woody and Robinson.

They also all went under 3 an over, which none of Stokes, Leach, Jacks, Root or Rehan managed. Average wise except Rehan the other 3 spinners and Stokes weren't good.

Batting wise will Crawley ,Duckett, Pope and Brook be as dominant as they were last time. Root I'd like to think will average more like Brook did last time than how bad he was.

Good assessment that.

I hope it's closer than the last time. Hopefully they've got their act together after the Banglas defeat.

Still rely very heavily on Babar and Rizwan to score their runs. And their bowling is looking rather toothless atm.

Think I read somewhere that Root was batting in a nappy last time as he was really Ill during the series.
