TEST SERIES :: Pakistan v West Indies

182 lead now with 8 wickets left, Babar another disappointment, but Pakistan looking very strong from here.

As you say, the pitch tactic does their quicks no favours but in reality, it probably doesn’t do their spinners much either - because the big question would be; will they have the skills/technique to bowl a side out on a fifth day of a ‘normal’ pitch?

Does anyone know what the music is that they play very regularly inside the grounds over there?? It’s very catchy
There's a few ditties that repeat over and over from the PSL. I'll keep an ear out for them tomorrow.

The spin tactics don't do their spinners much either. Because the answer to your question is no, they don't have the skills to bowl away on normal pitches like they do here. False economy for me.

What a brain fart from Shan there. Called through for a single, hesitated, watched the ball, ambled in and didn't get out the slide. Text book of how not to take a quick single. : lol:

What an absolutely shit pitch this is man. Would be like England playing in Durham in April and leaving an inch of grass on the wicket.
Yeah have to agree mind, I know teams should have a home advantage and have always had a home advantage in test cricket.

But has it gone too far for teams recently visiting Pakistan?

Personally I would say yes, it’s not cheating but it’s pushing the rules as far as possible.

When spinners are opening the bowling and pace bowlers have no influence whatsoever in any shape or form on the match it’s no good.

Sad that they've had to resort to it really. Used to have a great tradition of fast bowlers making use of whatever they could within the laws on flat decks, and the likes of Inzamam and Younis grinding out runs for fun.

Vert sad indeed mate. In the past Pakistan at hone especially have always looked to not lose as priority. Often at their own detriment denying opposition wins. Taking great pleasure in batting for days on roads where only the best of best fast bowlers can survive.

The win at all costs mentality won't help the PCB or cricket in the long term. I don't blame them though, they are only doing what has been forced upon them. Not wanting to be the runt of the litter. Remember this series is a relegation 6 pointer.

And will probably end the day after at 11:30.
Same ground in Multan isn't it? So you might not be far off.

Ahh fuck. This is exactly what I didn't want to hear.

This is more than doubling down. It's a fundamental change in philosophy which will set back Pakistani cricket for decades.

So basically, what they're saying is. Their fast bowlers are pap, can't bowl reverse swing and help take 20 wickets at home. Forget trying to teach them or god forbid implement an international fast bowling strategy. No, let's just sack them off. Turn our wickets into dust bowls so bang average spinners can run through teams. Turning their own inexperienced batting line up to gibbering wrecks in the process. Absolute dicks.

I mean, is winning this important?
