you would have to include your cooks, your sehwags, your trotts, your tendulkars, your kallis's, your sangakarras, your priors, your swanns, your andersons, your singhs, your steyns

with yours truly as 12th man :p
 
Not at 7. Not good enough batsman for top 6, definitely not a good enough bowler for 3 man pace attack

You'd only really expect him to bowl 10 overs a day to give the others a rest, Swann and Vettori would bowl around 60 overs of an innings should conditions dictate.
 
what if the game was at Perth, or the Oval?

The Oval tends to spin a lot after the first couple of days so it wouldn't be too much of a problem there.

May have a slight issue at Perth but I was only picking a best XI in general not for every pitch in world cricket ;)

If you were to select a test best for quicker, bouncier pitches like Perth, you would have to include Morkel or possibly Tremlett and I don't think either are anywhere near making a world XI currently IMO.
