It wouldn’t feel like a European tie in the same way, but ‘to prepare for the Championship’ is a mag like comment when we went there last year to prepare for the Premier and got our arses severely kicked.

You're making it too complicated. The beauty of it is that we could just sing their song ironically and have the last laugh by being the last fans to sing their song and ending it.

I see. I have learned more in the last 2-3 minutes about how the Europa League works than the last 2-3 years or 2-3 decades if it comes down to it.

Looking at the teams in all the pots I don't see any Real Madrid or PSG type teams anywhere. None of them have a name. But I would be very wary as I said elsewhere of the panache. The style and class of teams like Trabosponsor.

No it's one big league of 32 just like the CL. We play 8 opponents, only play them once. 4 matches at home, 4 away.

If after our 8 matches we are in the top 8 overall we will progress to the last 16. Finish 9-24th and we'll have a 2 legged playoff against one of the other 9-24th teams to get into the last 16(opponent depends on what position you finish, higher up gets you a lower opponent), finish 25th-32nd and we're out

Mind well and truly blown. I finally understand the Europa League. Thank you. I love the way it works. It's sort of like the Championship but on a bigger scale. We have a playoff between those from 3rd to 6th and those in the automatic places go up.

So we don't play all the teams in the league? We only play 8 of them both home and away. Better for me. I don't really want us to play the really top teams.

I think they hoy a few numbered balls into a hat and pick them out one at a time.

Each team will have a number so its the luck of the draw.

No we don't play them home AND away.

8 opponents, 8 matches....4 of them will be home and 4 will be away

So there is 31 teams and not the 32 as previously mentioned. Great. Thanks for the info.

You contradicted yourself there. You said we don't play them home and away and then you said we play 4 at home and 4 away. But that is fine.

...I see we are the 32nd team.
