Tale of two spinners...

Australia have never looked the same side since Lyon went off injured unless I am seeing things? Whilst, Ali's spell at Headingley turned the test in our favour, to which he continued the momentum with the bat in this test and could potentially bowl us to the Ashes as Stokes will likely use him a lot in the second innings here with variable bounce and the Oval takes spin traditionally.

Will Ali continue his test career if he ends up turning the Ashes in our favor and being a major contributor? Its ironic in the only test we were really outplayed he was not playing

He's already said he thinks this is it and won't be involved in the winter tours, don't think he wants to be or anyone has any expectation he will. I think England just wanted someone experienced for this series

Only he will know, but this series recall has allowed him to reach 200 test wickets and 3,000 test runs....... both significant achievements. If I was a betting man, which I'm not, I'd fancy him to go back into international retirement immediately after the Oval

No, you aren’t seeing things, you’re bang on. The fact Lyon is out of the series and the effect that has had on the Aussies should not be underestimated.
