soft loans are fine..thats how it usually works..its what ellis did and the cheslea owner..they do it because debt is higher up the queue in he event of insolvency than equity..so they have more control..
they then convert to equity later when they feel insolvency isnt a problem..

bit for instance..in the summer ellis left..because his loans were unsecured..he had nno say in whether the club went to adminstration..SBC did..if he had not cobverted so much of his loans to shares..he would have had the most say..
do you do it on purpose I hate reading your posts did you miss about 5 years of education

I was told at the end of the week but that timescale was also in the papers. Hopefully when it does happen it’ll have a slightly different affect on the region than Brexit will!!
To be honest these predictions of tomorrow or the end of the week are doing my heed in!..if the don phoned me up and said "odd were are going to sign the takeover tommorrow with the yanks but our pens ran out of ink and we've heard that your special qill is strong and true and your ink is mighty and ichorous ,can we please borrow your pen? or the deals off "100% i would say yes but nee feking way would i post its happenning tomorrow on here!i wish people would learn tomorrow is an abstract construct that never comes ......if your itk you can still play billy big balls if you post it at 9am on the morning of the event!

I still can’t understand why 3 billionaires with no connection to the area apparently want to “invest” in SAFC.
It’s a proper question that’s worth the debate on the answer FH.
I’ve heard 5 main reasons argued on here and only 1 combination makes sense.
1. Legacy/vanity project - I don’t buy this at all. Your question covers why not.
2. They want into football anyway, and we are the biggest bargain in English football - some mileage in this I think.
3. Buy us for 50m and sell for 250m - the maths and margins don’t work for this argument.
4. They want to build an organisation for their sons to run as they look to grow into global businessmen - just bollocks.
5. They use us to sell home grown players for Premier League fees - this plus point 2 is the only one I can see makes any sense at all.

Has to be some sort of tax break from DT ( trump )

5 is bollocks as the big boys have learned to poach our younguns at an earlier age for a fiver! 2 is possible and dell will show up if we got back to the prem as the yanks dont like associating their brand with failure!

Good reply, thanks, though not sure about your second point. We get big crowds but our income is very low and I can’t see that ever changing. I really do hope it comes off, in my opinion it’s our only hope of ever getting back in the top-flight for foreseeable.

Defiantly a legit question but look at it this way 2 ways. First, as an example, MSD sponsors an entire section of the National Archives in Washington DC here in the states. To do this would easily cost a pretty penny with what is on display there. There’s nothing at all in it for them to that expect maybe a tax break or good will with the country politicians (I’m no expert).

Second, Multi-Billionare philanthropists operate under a different business philosophy than most people in the world. With all of the other sporting business venture opportunities around the world, they probably see SAFC as a potential future brand in the States. Much like Chelsea back in back before Abromovich and Man City prior to becoming Citeih, very little to no one in the states followed them. Now you have kids (and some adults) now following them due to their recent successes due to the recent exposure of the premier league over here due to the NBC TV deal. The amount of kits sold over here by the big clubs are huge. In addition, there has been a bit of a surge in bandwagon leiscester city fans over here due to their recent successes. Ever since 2012, the states now can watch at least 3 fixtures on Saturday and Sunday on TV. The popularity of English football in general has grown tremendously over here in the last ten years. The premier league itself is a global brand and Ithink the FPP group are looking at attempting to expand the clubs base as a form of revenue generation. Of course this means they would have to pump loads of capital into the club to achieve this.
