Takeover Rumours

I was thinking that but not after ALS and RR both released things saying he wasn't, that was obviously after they'd been sent something by the club. I know things can change but wouldn't have thought they'd get them to release that then let Ross go
The club may be using both of them as a red herring to throw everyone off the scent , hard to know what's going on at the moment but till the announcement everything will be kept under wraps .

I'd be happy enough with that to be fair. I'm not convinced by Ross, at all, but recruitment has also been pretty awful. Is that Ross's fault? Are Hill and Coton not up to their roles? Either way, a strong, experienced director of football could be a great appointment. He can make sure he's happy with that side of things, Donald can almost take a back seat and focus more of the fan engagement stuff that he likes, methven and Davison on improving the business side, and obviously all supported by the new owners. Makes perfect sense, arguably more so than just sacking Ross unless a really mint appointment was just waiting in the wings which, whilst we're in league one, is unlikely

Aye its what I want tbh although a joint manager and dof announcement would be ideal.

Donald is good at the business side of things but I've seen nothing from him to suggest he knows anything about football. Dof coming in and restructuring recruitment/academy etc is what will end up making these new owners their profit.

Largely agree with that. Last season he had the "unsettled summer" excuse but this year he has to deliver, just as Donald and co expect and have stated. I think he gets more support because some people almost forget how utterly shit this league is and think it's great if we string four wins together. Realistically we need to regularly string long runs together if we're to win the league and even when we're winning I tend to think performances aren't great so I've got no confidence that it'll suddenly click and he'll get us there. Mind if he's staying then he deserves support, I really hope he proves me wrong

We all know we need a functioning striker and a quality midfielder to go straight up. Ross seems like a bit of a dozy Labrador...rolled over. Now he'll pay the price, unfortunately we'll have to live through it...

All this debate about should he stay or should he go, it is clear to me, he has to go, he sets his teams up not to lose, for us in this division that is pathetic, he is far too negative, and shows no sign of changing.

Cracking club cracking fans, great away day
Biggest consumers of Benedictine Brandy is the Burnley FC.
Local lads got the taste for it in the first world war and the traditional is still going strong.
Feck the you never walk alone shite or the Blaydon races, Burnley, founder members of the foot all league, is the true heart and soul of English football.
Big historical links with Durham.

We startedast season class and got.continually worse and are still doing so. Them excuses dont wash like. His style.of football is a disgrace. He makes the same mistakes every week
We got worse after our quality peak form goalscorer left and was replaced by someone below average tbh

I wasn't aware of that. I'm quite partial to an occasional glass of brandy & benedictine mesel. Potent gear.

I've heard it's Gerrard and Defoe as player coach. Gerrards agent has been staying at Durham since Thursday. Gerrard has been on holiday but spent most of it on Skype. Promotion to the Prem bonus being a stumbling block, not money but project timeline and also his monorail clause.
