Takeover Rumours

It's absolutely crazy. I'm actually convinced that some "fans" would rather the takeover all be a load of bollocks or fall through as long as they can get their moment of message board glory finding the "smoking gun" that catches you out. For me you're trying your best to keep people informed, and most of us are very grateful because otherwise the long wait really would have us worried. Judging by the amount of messages and things you must be receiving I think you're doing well to put your posts across as coherently as you are. Sadly some people are just mirthless, bitter and desperate to put a downer on anything and everything

The thing is mate, I'm having to change people's location and other minor details to project other people and myself to a degree.

When I receive messages with, at the top .... FOR YOUR EYES ONLY - DO NOT POST .... it kills me because I want to pass it on, I have dozens of mates on here.

So I try to hint at things as well as giving my own daft opinion as a poster and supporter.

I've already had a bollocking, as you may have noticed, and had to apologise.

The flight details I posted were slightly skewed so they couldn't be traced back to the lad who isn't a supporter and could be reprimanded by his company.

I stupidly offered @chriswallace85 a £500 bet, about the flight itinerary, then realised I wouldn't be able to divulge the info to back me up.

Sorry Chris, the deal's off now

My thoughts are that while we’re up near the top he’ll be ok then if results drop he’ll be gone. I don’t think they hang around hoping things change, they’ll make it change.
Aye its just me being negative but depends how much they would let things slip hope im wrong but i doubt Ross will get us promoted

The monorail talk is just that isnt it?neebugger believes it surely?Whatever happens with this takeover it has to be a positive thing for the club as the previous owners and now probably minority share holders nomatter what they have said in the past were struggling with the size of the financial job ans were just treading water and taking our club nowhere!.......if 50% of what has been said on here is true we are looking at a return to the premiership within the next few years and we have the three amigos to thank for that! And before anyone starts i use the three amigos as a shorthand for don charlie and jaun and i see it as a as a positive thing as i love that film.If the talk of extending the ground and redeveloping the land around the ground are true it can only be good for the city of sunderland and the club to have the biggest stadia in the north east......if only we had an airport!or one of the best coastlines in the country!
Think of the monorail talk as a metaphor for the other good things surrounding this deal (like directors moving their businesses to town- thanks SD!) and the rumour mill has years to grind. Having an airport is a bit like having a sewage works BTW. Essential but nowhere near me please!

I think the reports about the new investors, and the ‘rumour mill’ and other more believable inputthat naturally followed, is so strong that SD would have silenced the optimism very early in the process if the deal was not going well. He has history of putting fans in the picture of what is happening re club business and allowing the optimism to grow to such heights, if things are not so good, would damage him and CM irreversibly. So my belief in eg Riever and backed by faith in SD I’m 100% certain the deal is done.

I don’t think we need to worry about it mate, I personally think they be looking for a proven manager anyway and it’s just the timing that matters.
I’m basing this on nothing other than thinking self made billionaires don’t fuck about.
I also agree that our squad should’ve been and should be promoted.

Bollocks....multi Billionaires don't sweat the small stuff...

You'd be surprised. Arnold Weinstock, who was running GEC when I worked for one of their subsidiaries in the early 90s, personally scrutinised every directors expense claims (both main board and subsidiaries) and was ruthless about disallowing anything he felt inappropriate. Once, his FD and right hand man tried to claim £50 for losses made on the outcome of playing golf with business contacts. Arnold red-pencilled it with the comment "Am I to presume from this that, had you won, you would have given the winnings to the GEC?". They get to be billionaires precisely because they do sweat the small stuff. Firstly, because it sets a good example to other employee, and secondly, because it establishes a culture of getting things right from day one. Arnold also used to refuse to sanction any redundancy payment which exceeded the statutory maximum.

Keeping our airport located at its current spot up in North West Sunderland is probably a good call from our new owners.
