Piss off 😁 re locking the thread - Reiver is a hero.

Who's going to tell me that there are helicopters in the air. I was out with the Mrs Skullmeister and little Skullmiester today and by chance we found ourselves at Seaburn. After leaving the amusements and we were back in the car Mrs S asked where we were going next, I said we are just going to drive for a bit, you just keep your eyes peeled for helicopters.
I think I’ve visited this thread over 1000 times this week.
Is that all? What have you been doing?😀

I’m 64. Time is running out for me to see us win the Top division. In my lifetime, as well as the big boys, the following clubs have won it;

Wolves
Burnley
Ipswich
Leeds
Everton
Derby
Nottingham forest
Blackburn
Leicester

I don’t care whose money we use to add Sunderland AFC to that list.
I’d settle for any sort of trophy! Thought we’d cracked it in 2014 and we would have if not for f’ing Toure!

The likes of Swansea, Brum, boro, Oxford, Luton all have league cup wins since the mid 80s and it’s frustrating we can’t even make that list.

Even the Checkatrade would have been a legit trophy win at Wembley and we blew that too!

Ha still very good news for you lads! just all about keeping expectations reasonable- QPR have that Lakishi Mittal who is one of the worlds richest men own a 20% stake in their club yet they aint throwing money around post FFP, Wolves are owned by a wealthy corporation and have been in the league for 2 seasons yet a section of their fans who should be in dream world are moaning they aint challenging for the CL at present - my advice is keep your expectations reasonable and you'll enjoy the ride alot more than expecting these guys to bankroll you like Man City and being disappointed if it doesnt happen :)
Build from the bottom up and keep it real.
On the whole English clubs have done well avoiding the game from getting sanitised by the corporate input.
With obvious exceptions.

If we have anywhere near the success wolves have had in the past few seasons, 90% of our fans will be over the moon.

Wolves would be the realistic model I would hope for (not the super agent), but spend money to build a good team/squad, I don't want us wasting 60+ million on dead wood to get out the championship, i want us to build and if we do get to the Premier league keep building and see what happens. On a side note the top two is sealed for the foreseeable future in city and Liverpool anyway!!

City are set up for life, Liverpool will only be up there as long as Klopp sticks around - their owners don't spend enough unless it involves selling a top player to keep them up their unless they have one of the best managers around keeping them punching above their weight.

Its why im slightly sceptical of American ownership - Kroenke is a very wealthy bloke and married into the Walton Dynasty yet spends very little on players same as the Glazers and as I mentioned FSG at Liverpool.

Whether these guys do things differently who knows however as said FFP is a bastard in trying to compete with the plastic clubs already dining at the table.

We just want Pickford back and a monorail.
