“Newcastle needs many tens of million of pounds to take a real shot at Man Utd and Chelsea.” And that quote alone is why every football fan on this planet, not just ours will tell you that mags are deluded and think they have a god given right to be a big club. Won absolutely nowt in modern times

After 50 years, another few days is nothing.

I did wonder if SD would actually become a paid CEO as well as a main board member acting on behalf of the shareholders. That may be one of the key issues that needed to be resolved before completing.

I would also think that if MD is purchasing a significant amount of shares, regardless of whether he wants to be passive, he may want to look the club over before finalising. Synchronising schedules with guys of his stature can often be challenging.

I foresee a major shift in power twixt the two cities. I'm not just talking football. I might well be deed afore it comes into full bloom, but I see the shoots & fust buds....

Tbh I’d be happy with an understated announcement of this takeover. Confident in the knowledge that we have the backing without blasting it out to the rest of the football world.
