Deservedly beating Pompey, 5 wins on the spin including beating PL Burnley away, squad seems more settled, Dobson looks promising, Wyke looking a lot better Mcnulty has showed promise in flashes..

The best you’ve got is that we’ve beaten Portsmouth, a side that we beat in literally our 3rd to last game of last season.

We won 8 on the spin last season. Meant fuck all by the end of it.

We have had fewer shots on goal than every other team bar Bolton and Wimbledon, haven’t kept a single clean sheet, have won 12 games in 8 months, including only 8 of our last 20, still insist on playing a L2 midfielder ahead of an actual defender, play a right back at left back, and have just signed a left back who says he can’t concentrate for a full 90 minutes.

The fact donald backs him so much and also hill... makes me worry about him being involved still tbf.

He has his good points but his judgement looks shit so far

Serious question marra, but on what basis have you formed this opinion?

When he came here we had no team and to get within touching distance of promotion from that starting point isn't easy, especially for someone who hasn't managed in England before and in only their second full season as a manager.

We made stupid mistakes defensively last season and that, in my opinion, ultimately cost us promotion. There is only so much you can do with players making mistakes especially when the players you bring in to replace them just do the same thing.

Other than that not much. To be honest I think I'm just tired of the manager merry-go-round.

(I also said he'd be sacked by October if he started badly, luckily we have scraped a few wins but he needs massive improvements to still be here by Christmas)

It’s because he’s cheap. Simple as that.

I’ve said it before, they banked it all on us going up last season. Failure to get promoted has fucked us this season because they hadn’t anticipated it.

When you’ve got Donald telling Roker Report how we have loads of money, we’re bidding for loads of players and all that, then actual journalists saying we haven’t got a pot to piss in then something’s not right.

May as well get behind him. It’s still a hugely exciting time for the club. The recruitment is a huge problem, more so than Jack, couple of dinosaurs running that end as if its still the 90s - phoning round clubs to see who’s available and their seems to be no strategy. They have definitely had their hands tied in terms of resources but would I fuck want to hand Stews mates the transfer kitty. They have no idea the types of player we need to build an exciting team and that’s been evident since day one, it’s been a scatter gun approach and that’s why we have an unbalanced team with no pace. The scouting goes as far as Tony Cotons phone book I’d imagine. Probably the only drawback of Stewart staying is I think he will stay loyal to his mates and they’ll be safe in their jobs.
We need a manager who knows what he wants and the funds to be able to do it, foisting players upon a manager/coach isn’t the way forward, what’s even worse is the likes of Tony Coton allegedly choosing/highlighting the availability of players, I didn’t like him the last time he was here.

Bowyer couldn’t even put a full bench out against us. They’re currently second in the championship.

Ross had the biggest transfer budget, best facilities and infrastructure, the biggest squad and more time to sign players than Barnsley who appointed their manager after we appointed Ross.

This “woe is Ross” shit is bollocks.

I actually agree with you regarding him starting well when he first arrived, the complete shambles that he oversaw from around November last year was pathetic, we don’t appear to have improved this season, in fact he even experimented with 3-5-2 which was disastrous, I really don’t see him lasting, unless of course we go on some miraculous run of form that currently we don’t appear capable of.

No way am I his biggest fan or feel sorry for him, I shift between keeping him and sacking him on an almost game by game basis.

I just think he will be a good manager eventually but not necessarily at our club. We might have been a step too far for him

There was a rabbit away here mind. Clearly a very bright clever lady but it always seemed her self belief was her downfall. Can i say being Irish with the ability to neck alcohol helped in a Darren Ferguson kind of manner ..... ?
Not so sure about the very bright clever bit - I can't think of any positives she brought to the club - in my opinion of all the bad appointments/decisions the club has made in the last 10yrs this one was the most costly and I include Moyes in that

I haven't given up on Ross yet. He narrowly failed and has turned things around to an extent. He still can't understand that the fans are not excited by his football though which is concerning.
However, he is still going to be here so I think we need to get behind him and concentrate on other subjects like a DoF or a better Head of Recruitment.

I think he had a good enough side from the start, and to be fair we started well (was it 4 wins from 5, the other being a, with hindsight, very good point at Luton?). I was more annoyed that, after the start and as the players presumably got used to Ross, we actually got worse and worse. Had he had a slow start and then improved I'd have been confident. He's definitely got a lot to prove, be interesting to see how he does. Mind he's seemingly getting the chance so all we can do is support him and hope for the best
