Get that key appointment wrang & there's a good chance the errors will cascade arl the way down through the organisation. Get it right & that's a completely different matter. Agreed. Quinn had some nightmares at managing the 'club'. I'd say his managerial appointments were savvy enough. If we have investment the strategy - youth set up, scouting, transfers, coaching, PR, commercial etc etc has to be spot on or its a waste of money in the Ellis Short manner. Massive appointment is that.

I'm in two minds with Ross.

On one hand I want to see him succeed here as I really believe he could be a top manager given time and I'm sick of us changing managers. He has also had to build a squad from scratch.

On the other hand he still doesn't seem to know his best team or formation yet and doesn't appear to learn from mistakes (or not quick enough anyway). The team we have on paper anyway should be performing much better. Yeah we've been winning games but let's face it the performances have still been poor.

I think he'll still be here until Christmas at least.

For most of the game after their equaliser I had the feeling they were more likely to win it, everyone I've spoken to thought the same. They were driven forward by passionate support whilst Sunderland fans sat in virtual silence.. I have been to Wembley every time we have played from 1973 onwards and have saw us outplayed on most of those occasions. However, it is only the last two that I have been totally embarrassed at the level of our vocal support where it must have felt like home games for our opponents.Actually we were not too bad first half against Portsmouth, but that was it..
