No. But he won't be an active investor. That simply means he won't be on the board engaged actively in the running of the club. It does not exclude him being involved in the funding of the club. Indeed, as he will be a shareholder, if investment is to be made by increasing share capital, he will need to do so if his shareholding is not to be diluted. For what it's worth, Roman Abramovic is not on the board at Chelsea, and Mike Ashley is not on the board at the Mags. People are confusing ownership and management.

Where would we be without your wisdom. Top lad

So he wont be at games etc but he has funds available for Sunderland football club if its ever needed?

He could be at games, but he has the reputation of being a bit reclusive, so I'm not sure it's likely. The active investors handle all his investments (he's the sole client of MSD Capital), so I'm sure if they advised him to do it it would be forthcoming.

Wouldn’t you have to extend it first so that it would be level all the way around?

Aye I’m guessing so hence why it’s probably longer term surely?

Can’t make it a 60 odd thousand seater in league 1 or the championship. I’d think if we became a regular top 10 club selling out the stadium that’s when they’d do it.

I have to stress though the lad who told me about the roof said that was just one of their plans, like an ambition not something nailed on.

Their CVs suggest so.

Ahh man... it's weird I'm a fully grown man but this situation at points has had me feeling excited like a kid again.

I love this club and never expected anything possibly like this unsure what it may be but by the sounds of it something only would have dreamt of a year ago.

Just hope don't get the usual SAFC kick in the bollocks to bring me down.

Maybe the Dell lads checked out the John Cooper Clarke poem on youtube, read a comment on the video from a mag saying it referred to Sunderland and after a quick search for Sunderland they decided to buy the club. Nice one.
Evidently Chicken Town is a class piece from JCC, like. Featured on an episode of The Sopranos, I seem to recall. Based on Bloody Orkney. Plagiarism raised as a spectre. Much like the mag rehash, ad absurdum, ad nauseam.

These people don't do things for the bantz. They'll be serious - they're serial winners and won't have any intention of changing that.
I totally agree but they can also be ruthless in stopping funding companies if they don’t perform, as they say in the VC world back your winners and cut your losers, that said they can’t be doing this for a quick buck, think we are in for a hell of a ride.
