The opposite imo. Whatever the current owners invested would be dead money, price is all agreed etc and theyd lose that transfer money paid instantly.

Also why would the new owners fund a business purchase for something they dont own?

I don’t get why people are struggling with this, you wouldn’t agree to sell your car to someone who’d had an rac inspection done on it, then buy some new alloy wheels and a radio for it while you were waiting for them to pick it up.

I’d have been infinitely more worried if they’d spent cash on a panic buy.

I'm trying hard to differentiate between actual info and my opinion but, of course, this is a confusing time for us all.
