Takeover Rumours

if all this comes off then prepare to have haters everywhere. Let them hate. We have suffered long enough.

I could not give one shiny fuck if other clubs hate us. I want us to do things right and have a side and set up to do our club’s fine history proud. If that means supporters of Stoke, Derby and Leicester despise us, then I think we’d still all be able to sleep soundly. If other clubs of an even higher status hate us, then that’s even better as it suggests we’d have been competing.

For the first time in a long, long time, I’m very optimistic about our future. It just feels like something is about to change and despite Donald’s best efforts over the last year, it didnt feel like we were going anywhere to get excited about. Him and the rest of the board brokering this deal deserves and enormous amount of credit as it genuinely gives us hope.

Haway Sunderland. Don’t fuck this up

Taken from the Chronicle

They key difference is that the investment comes from Phelan, Fuhrman and other backers, and therefore initial reports that is was MSD Capital are incorrect because the money isn't all coming from Michael Dell or the Dell family, which MSD Capital deals exclusively with.

With Michael Dell being a minority investor it isnt his money directly but his business partners cash, who as we know, are also billionaires. Mr Dells money is there if we need it I imagine.

So, its looks like it isnt Dell directly.

The Chronicle aren't right on that either are they? I thought something posted last night said MSD also holds capital for other companies including the likes of Hilfiger and Calvin Klein - or a meringue?

Ipswich fans thoughts on it:

They seem to have a very high opinion of themselves.
“Even if they get bought we will still walk the league.”

Be prepared for a lot of bitterness from the rest of the EFL clubs and some premier league clubs.

Fuck them.

Imagine having a half decent PL side and teams not fancying coming up here. Surely not too much to ask in our lifetime, maybe a cup win inside the next ten years.

I think this moment will be looked back upon as the changing of the guard, we will look back and see ourselves as the next team who got their big break.

Would seem the club have briefed RR, The Echo & ALS and let them break the news. So you would assume the club are confident it’s quite far down the road.

The Times also had a piece on it last night.
Ross will now be on a tightrope has to prove he can get us promoted as these guys will not be happy for another season in this league

Bitter as fuck carrot crunchers, not one if them managing to make a valid point or anything factually accurate. Inbred tractor nonces

The source of wealth from the other 3 investors is from MSD Capital. It's not directly from Michael Dell but their source of wealth is. Basically they are loaded.

But you've no real idea have you?

Neither have I but I hope it will be a wonderful opportunity and give us a great club that will win things.

I'm just a little curious as to why some people are keen to play it down and advise others to calm down and not get too excited.

Getting excited is harmless.

(This isn't personal btw, I'm just more likely to get a sensible response from you.)

You're long enough in the tooth to know we're conditioned to things going wrong, ffs some were even talking about exorcising the stadium to lift the curse

I'm thrilled about it but I'm tempering my expectations based on our history and what other very rich men do in football....sovereign wealth funds excepted.

Michael Dell is a minority investor. Still some money from him also.
