Takeover Rumours

These blokes won’t make money out of the football club and can’t throw too much money in because of FFP. However regenerating the town, attracting more income, more people, developing the ground the space, putting money in people’s hands will benefit the club and community and us supporters of course. Sunderland is rife for regeneration and with the coast even tourism. It’s exciting stuff all round this as long as we make good footballing decisions, keep the everyday fan connected and start the day with a good meal.

I heard that they are considering building a brewery on that bit of land near Keel Square.

I believe it will all come out which is what's slowing down the announcement ...
... they want to come in with a bang, not a whimper.

(That's a John Cooper Clarke reference as well.)
morning Riv, was thinking about this last night mate and I have just the thing for you if it all goes tits up,
your new 'walk on' music' Alabama 3 and 'woke up this morning'

what do you think?

There are so few posters who ‘hate’ Donald from what I’ve seen. Plenty of skeptics and critics, of which I’d class myself as one, but hate? Few and far between IMO. He seems a decent bloke with the club’s best interests at heart but hasn’t necessarily done things brilliantly or communicated as clearly or quite as transparently as some would give him credit for. Methven I’m even more skeptical of, and given some of Donald’s comments about some PR things, I think he may have a similar view on Methven and his approach at times.

Despite all that, if and when this deal is pulled off, they may have just been a part of the biggest and most important passages in our club’s history; particularly post-war. And if we start progressing swiftly and successfully then they’ll deserve unlimited credit for orchestrating the deal.
Hate is too strong a word I agree, but there's plenty on here have called him a chancer, out of his depth, only here to make a few quid etc.

Has this delay got anything to do with the goings on in Parliament this week? Seems a bit coincidental that they fly across to conclude the deal Thursday/Friday and on Wednesday night the chances of exiting the EU on the 31st October all but died! I mean if I was a U.S Republican businessman I could see investment in the UK as a good investment in a post Brexit UK when you will see closer trading relationships between the UK and US. If the UK remains locked in Brexit paralysis for the next 5 years due to Corbyn and his cronies that investment is no longer as attractive.
