Takeover Rumours

@Grumpy Old Man will be better placed to advise but suspect SD may have had to sell Bridle to raise the capital to match % of MSD input to retain % shares?

No. I suspect it's because they want him here full time. The entire point of this investment is to dilute his shareholding. At the moment Madrox owns 100% of Sunderland, and SD owns 74% of Madrox. Now, we don't know yet whether the new investors are buying a controlling interest in Madrox or, more likely to my thinking, Sunderland. Either way, Donald's interest will fall to whatever is agreed. For reasons connected with company law, I expect the new investors to be controlling at least 75% of whichever company they're buying.

@Reiver mate, I have ignored the bollocks you have been getting, but honestly thanks for the information. I'll buy you a pint but it will have to be a 2.10 amstel from Greens cos I'm skint.... 😂

Please just ignore the Mag WUMS like Andrew. 🛎🔚
As much I agree about shit @Reiver is putting up with and not looking to start a fight but @AndrewP is not mag like been all over the country watching Sunderland with him we were both in the top 300 for loyalty points in our younger days not many bigger Sunderland fans than him

A few people seem to take pleasure in sticking their smug boot into other fans, just because they have a different point of view.
No right minded fan was disappointed we won five on the trot, man. We all want what’s best for SAFC. The odd nutter and WUM saying stuff like that is hardly representative of Ross’s critics, but it’s constantly mentioned by Ross’s supporters like it’s the populist view amongst his critics. It isn’t.

On balance, I think Ross needs to go. If he proves me wrong and shows he’s learned from his mistakes, gets the team playing some clever, attacking footy, and then leads us to promotion this season, then brilliant, that’s all most of us want right now. I don’t think he can do it. I’ve nothing against Ross personally, no agenda, I just don’t think he’s right for us.

I doubt we’ll even make the playoffs this season, but I desperately hope I’m wrong. Three consecutive seasons in L1 would be unthinkable.

Not sure what's smug about thinking the criticism is way OTT and, sometimes, based on personal grievance rather than performance.

On the subject of the manager: You may well be right, we shall see. What I don't understand, and would love to ask him, is why he's abandoned the approach he had at the other SAFC. He arrived saying we might lose some games heavily but we'll win more because of the attacking nature of his style. He's been the opposite if anything and I don't know if that's down to recruitment/personnel or attitude change.

If I was him I'd be throwing caution to the wind at this stage because he's probably not got a lot of rope left if the big money arrives and we aren't pushing on.

I know. I'm just trying to counter wind up to show how annoying it is on a feel good thread 😉

And what is not civil about the post you quoted ?

Your post was perfectly civil.

I was simply suggesting that all sorts of opinions are welcome as long as the exchange remains reasonable and civil.

This is a huge thread and I can see from the logs that one particular mod has put a daft amount of effort in just to keep it public.

It would be a real shame for it to be binned as a result of bickering or handbags.

All your doing is try to bring down the vibe of the thread.

Well guess what.

THE. TAKEOVER. IS. HAPPENING. (and I know this from my own sources who are meeting the new owners in the next few weeks for city related issues)

What route will the monorail take and will it be open in time for me coming back in October? IF not, the council and the new owners are a disgrace because I want a go on it. ;)

Nonsense. I believe it will happen. I don't believe it's a done deal, but believe it is close.

Not once have I even suggested anything to the contrary. I have zero inside info and will celebrate when it's on safc.com.

It still doesn't justify repeatedly saying the same thing or telling other members to fuck off though does it? Although some posts have been removed, do a search for fuck off by AndrewP in this thread and you'll see what I mean as it was totally uncalled for.

Just in negotiations to see if we can use some of North Haverbrooks infrastructure as they don't use it anymore.... 😉
