Takeover Rumours

A bloke who is a turncoat Sunderland fan now a Mag from a Sunderland supporting town 23 miles from Newcastle, fabricating rumours that SAFC couldn't afford to build a statue on a Sunderland fans forum. It doesn't get much sadder than that This takeover thing has got them clutching at straws.

Everyone just stick the lunatic on ignore and he will be like Hess in Spandau prison wondering around on his own mumbling.

They are Americans however and you have had one of them already, When Americans invest, they borrow the money first, and they aren't big on individual accountability or taking any personal risk. The fact that a few people who could afford your club all on their own are grouping together would concern me if it was happening at Newcastle. The takeover would be starting with the club in debt.
:lol: Fuck off man. You just concentrate on shouting at a shop today in your famous green and green stripes. Don’t you worry about little old Sunderland:lol:

Getting the thread back on track from a bitter Mag who is fuming we are being bought by people with a combined wealth of awa 40 billion

They are at the game today
Likely conversation today:

Billionaire 1: Charlie Wyke has played well today what with him scoring 4 goals.

Billionaire 2: correct, but he looks to be a level below what is required to compete in the championship. We shall replace him.

Billionaire 3: I concur.

70 billion mate. 40 billion is Dell himself. 30 billion between the others. One of them has 1 billion of art alone!

Fair play to them (genuinely). You, however said "we paid for it" (which I took to mean your fans) and said that we couldn't get the cash together for it so you had to do it. The link shows that some ex NUFC people chipped in (which like I say is fair enough) but there's absolutely no indication there that the money was needed because we couldn't reach the total. Obviously the ten grand will have got us to the total quicker, but there's nowt to suggest the other ten grand wouldn't have been raised. So you didn't pay for it because we couldn't raise the money, some ex NUFC players and owner chipped in towards a target that was going to be reached anyway

Why did the council have to resort to crowdfunding? The club should have just paid for it.

Billionaire 4: Lads remember we're American so know nothing and we need to borrow money from people that don't have as much money as us as we don't want to take the personal risk!

Why are you making things up? and then accusing me of fabricating rumours. You've reacted based on another poster making up lies to try and win an argument with a mag on the internet. I made a point about American owners and got hit with loads of anti Newcastle bile, then accused of being someone who treats owners terribly so I pointed out your previous owner was glassed by one of your own. Then someone mentioned we weren't nice people and I indicated how nice we were chipping in for Bob Stokoes statue.

I don't clutch at straws I made a point and have followed up with facts, you lot make shit up and bury your heads in the sand rather than address a point. Which is the main reason I avoid the football threads generally on this forum, because you are all too blinkered.

That's an entirely different argument. I can't remember if I'm being honest, I think because it wasn't just SAFC deciding to do it. A few groups decided to do it and they decided that's how they were going to fund it, which let fans feel that they'd contributed a bit as well. But again that's a different argument and I'm not going to contribute to derailing the thread any more
