Takeover Rumours

There was every need to apologise, ffs!

It wasn’t that he repeated duff info, the problem was he disappeared after posting something that pissed a great many people off and created a shitstorm. No explanation, nothing.

There was absolutely no need to delete his account, though. That is a great shame and I’m certain he’ll be missed.
Fair point.

So they're trying to buy the Hilton before the takeover is announced? This is gonna rumble on for ages isn't it.

Trying to get the best outcome for themselves whilst investing a fuck load of money and improving the surrounding areas as well as the club itself? Aye sod it, just buy the club quickly and sod everything else....

Sunderland FC developments which Short is part of . Land purchased from homes and communities I think.

Not sure Short would sell unless he's keen on recouping losses and not sure these would just wish to be partners.

Shaun, no need to sign off for good. We are the same age and I always enjoy your posts of old newspapers from the 70s and 80s showing match reports and old photos.

Re old photos, do you have one of Mel Holden’s goal against Bristol City at Roker Park on a Friday which was our first goal in about 10 games? I think it was at the Roker end but I have seen people say it was at the Fulwell. I was in the Roker end and got soaked but I remember walking back to the car with my Dad as happy as a duck would have been.
Definitely the Roker End as it was my 1st ever game In the Fulwell. Remember it as you do those important moments in your life.

I worked, in France for 4 years, for an Oligarch who was in the top 200 richest in the world.

I had to make myself a Ltd company and was paid through an office in Portugal. I had to sub contract Mrs Reiver to work for my company at his property.

This must have saved him £5000 a year which sounds an insane waste of time.

But with 1000's of employees, across the world, all of these 'penny pinching schemes' fund the lawyers and accountants already employed.

Some of these people would recycle their own piss tbh

Since I posted my ITK bits about Fuhrman, etc, I've received messages of various kinds from various people I'd not previously known. I've not posted much of the info unless it's been substantiated by someone unconnected with them, flight details, etc. . Through this I've 'met' some interesting people with much more knowledge than myself.

One of the aspects of this takeover that was mentioned to me, around 2 weeks ago, was the Hilton at the SOL. I was given a little info, about it, personally but not enough to confirm it or post. I then received a pm from a well known respected poster but a stranger to me. More interesting but still not enough to post. However, I've had a WhatsApp conversation with a friend, this morning, which has prompted me to post.

It's been mooted there are negotiations for the new owners to buy the Hilton while the club is at its lowest ebb. Its obvious the hotel's value would soar if we were in the PL and doing well. Short would then be able to ask top dollar whereas he may 'take a deal' pre-takeover announcement. But he won't just roll over especially as he took a big hit when he 'sold the club'. If there's an impasse that could slow down the takeover/announcement.

I'm not sure if it's Short, or another 'company' that owns the Hilton but the Dell boys could recoup a great deal of investment, in the club, by taking ownership of the hotel now and seeing the value increase.

That tends to be how serious business people become so rich. Of course they can spend millions, on the football side, without it hurting them but if they can earn that money back, and then some, they'll see that as success. As long as we hang onto their coat tails we'll see the area, around the ground, brought into line. TBH the areas from the Wheatsheaf and the metro to the ground are disgraceful. Especially the back alley from the Deafy/Victory and the hot dog alley over the railway bridge.

If there are plans to improve it all it would benefit everyone.
It would also make sense if they want to utilise the stadium for things other than torturing us on a sarrada like concerts and shit. If they have plans to invest in the area bringing other stuff in they’ll want to squeeze every penny they can out of it.

Fuck me man if this is true it seems like we’re going to be taken over by people who know their shit and mean business.

True although I’ve taken to scrolling back through in a reverse chronological order to try and rebuild the story of the past 8-12hrs like the film Memento. Although it’s a lot more David Lynch with the batshit crazy chat on this thread.
Exactly how I’ve just found your post here. I do exactly the same.

All sounds positive. I know the garage by the fan zone is also for sale by Lookers. Could make a great indoor fanzone at home games

My guess would be that negotiations, to buy the hotel, would've been started ages ago by a company not known to be associated with Dell.

A potential buyer was mentioned, on here, months ago.
I don’t begrudge Short making some moolah on the hotel.

Whatever his faults, he could have really shafted us when he left but cleared our debt instead.

Gotta respect his principles.

Does anyone know the company that owns and operates the hotel ?
Sunderland FC Developments.

An aside to earlier. We have a stadium that's used less than 30 times a year and redundant in summer.

Building outward with retail will struggle as this country fucked when it comes to that.

Anyone who has been to US will know their retail areas are bouncing . Trump maybe a loon to some but their economy never been better (apologies for politics  )
