Takeover Rumours

The dafties on here expecting us to sign PL players in League One man. That would be the daftest idea and give me absolutely no confidence in the new owners and their ability to build something sustainable.

We've tried it. It doesn't work, you need to build a squad suitable for success at your level, that cares about the club and grows with it until back in the PL.

I know that won't please the bairns who want everything overnight but it's the truth.

Which premier league players do they want us to sign?

Name the premier league players? I think people all want sustainable investment and attacking football.

strange that i saw that bolton had a 20 million cash injection the next day after their takeover.. i didnt see it it it was reported by a bofffin on sky.. some financial professor..
Clearig debt? We had a £158 million cash injection after Short left. It was on Companies House website.

We’ll become the Rocky Balboa of the football world, STID will be filming the lads running up the museum steps and punching the air, cheered on by everyone in Fitzy’s.

I just know pubs should be closed Sunday lunch time.

That being said having a rich owner is not a bad thing...

If we do manage to get out of the turd division this season... we will need to spend some $millions to compete and further promotion we will need even more!

How can you prove you’re not the daftie on here?

People saying they want them to "thrown money at it" as if that's a good way to go about building sustainable success. There's a time and a place for spending ten's of millions on star players.....league one certainly isn't it.
Well Ross will fuck it up again. Bit of pressure and he flaps like fuck

He had plenty of opportunity's to get us promoted but fucked it up, and we had a better team last season.

I agree mind.

We will soon see by how long Ross gets and how much money we spend next summer, especially if we do go up.

Don't get me wrong, we certainly don't want to be coming in proclaiming that we're loaded, no need to push prices any higher than we need to, but there's not a good enough return by running SAFC sustainably to make it worth the while of 4 billionaires. Not saying that Reiver is the Oracle or anything either but that would also go against what he has suggested (an announcement that will get everyone feeling positive). We can get out of this league for very little money but to (as near as you can) guarantee getting out of the championship we'll need to spend a decent amount. Like I say if not they'll need to be bloody confident that our football people can get us promoted to the PL and on current evidence of management and recruitment I don't see where they're get that confidence from.

It'll presumably be a fairly long term game they are playing in terms of further improving infrastructure and getting the right people in the right roles, but they need to get us into the PL quite quickly to make it worthwhile for them and I don't see how they do that without a sizeable initial investment
