I am pretty relaxed about things, or had been until this point.

We obviously all want new people running the club, the money is a bonus.

I am entirely relaxed about Donald staying as a shareholder. But I don't want him or especially Methven having any say whatsoever in the running of the club, other than whatever residual rights their shareholding grants them - and I want that to be as low as broadly reported, so its basically fuck all if Dreyfus/Sartori say otherwise.

As for the veracity of the takeover - not remotely worried, clearly happening.

Really appreciate your continued updates.
Watching the compilation someone put up here if the Keane promotion side helps you remember just how good things can be when we get it right at the club.
We mightn’t be able to have the sort of transfer window he enjoyed but the right manager and set up I’m sure could achieve far more than we’re seeing now.

It isn't.

I've spun for a living, for my sins, and it's not the same - or at least it wasn't when I worked in politics. Nowadays, who knows, social media has changed that industry completely.

Anyway, the point about spin is its careful arrangement of facts or careful omission of the truth. It is absolutely not outright lying, not just on moral grounds, also on efficacy: people f***ing check, surprise surprise.

Everything I've seen about Methven suggests he's utterly shit at his supposed trade. His firm is - at best (and that's putting it charitably, trust me) - small and unremarkable. He has no qualifications to run a club anywhere near our size. He barely has any to run a f***ing bath.

And yet listen to him gan on.

He was right. He's supposed to have gone crackers after that game, because the plan to flip the club had gone tits-up. IIRC Salmonpants had been working without a salary on the promise of a windfall when the plan happened, so everything he had done was for nowt. If he was angry over the situation, it would be easy for that anger to spill over on to the fans, even months later.
I'm not defending his words or his behaviour, because he is obviously a deluded posh wanker with no knowledge of big-league football, Northern culture and specifically the city of Sunderland. You would think a PR expert would not allow his analysis of pub owners who use dodgy streams to make money out of the club (justified) to refer also to the fans who go there to drink instead of going to the game (not justified to anything like the same extent). To call them BOTH parasites was dumb.
If CW gets a profit out of the situation, given that he brought in Sartori, and maybe KL-D too, then at least he has made a contribution, unlike his pal, the lying, conniving coward and paragon of stupidity SD.
What a waste of two and a half years. They would both be wise to keep their heads down.
