That's narcissism. The reason he won't go.
He hates being disliked and does his "well if you don't want me I will go " routine but then doesn't.

I can say he was right because the club big mouth was walking around meetings with third parties at the time giving the same week as the completion date.
It wasn't Nixon's fault it didn't go through in the end

never happened. And according to the club he never even showed proof of funds. But will never know the truth i suppose.

Check my posts from that summer marra. I don't know where Nixon gets his info from but since he gave a specific week of when it was 'expected' to go through which was the same week as the club big mouth was giving to anyone who would listen I've had my suspicions.
Campbell had free reign to speak to players and staff that summer which is how confident the owners were of it completing.

I'd imagine they would be by default anyway if they are the only ones with exclusivity. From what I can gather the Paul interest is just that as it stands.

He defo gets info right, whether thats from club or elsewhere i’m not sure. He’s been adamant since July/August that Sartori & other(s) were trying but also said he wasn’t convinced SD or CM going anywhere.
This American bloke a bit of a surprise at this late stage, but i wouldn’t rule anything in or out with SD

There was some suggestion initially
that at least one other name could be involved with Dreyfus but I’ve seen nothing recently. The story that surfaced last night about this American seems to refer to an alternative bid rather than him being linked to the parties currently in exclusivity.
Probably didn’t help that they likely knew he was being filmed for Netflix. What’s going to make a big storyline for a Netflix show like that? Negotiations for a big-money signing during the window. Probably figured his ego wouldn’t let him back down or take no for an answer in front of the cameras. Easy money.13 bids wasn't it?
I wonder at what point they realised they had him on a string.
