I'm not gonna join the 'they're all talking shit' brigade, a few people will be given info - it happens, people have connections, I did myself years back, but christ I wish someone would just be right now and it happens.

I agree with what you are saying mate about things being said in confidence. Now I don't know anything at all but if I was told something I would either say I have heard that something could be happening in the next month (or whatever it may be)
What I don't like is people coming on saying that they know things are going on behind the scenes but can't say anything. They have said nothing can't say anything so don't post anything if that makes sense

He said if it happened he would name his source as they wouldn't be at the club after any takeover, mind the same poster also claimed it was at the EFL stage weeks ago.
 
I am not itk and never have been but years ago i was given info about probably the biggest thing to happen to the club in the last 20 year. It was really detailed as well and i was told a couple of months before it was announced. I actually dismissed it as bullsh*t myself. If i had revealed it on here i couldve had people hanging on my every word for years.

Some people will be genuine and the info is genuine and things will genuinely change and not come off. Some people will invent stuff to try and look important and gamble on stuff happening. Thats tragic and i pity them more than get annoyed with them. Other people will just try to wind people up. I just judge all info on its own merits, taking the source into account.
 
Was it the start of August Barnes said he thought something would happen “by the end of the transfer window”?

It’s now November and still nowt. The owners must be thankful that the fans cannot attend games because I don’t think their continued influence at the club would go down very well at the SoL or away games.

I genuinely believe they’re gambling on going up again this year, it’ll inflate Donald’s already ludicrous asking price. Should we go up and a sale drags out all summer then it’ll have a huge negative effect on our preparations for life in the Championship. We’ve already seen what a farce these idiots have made of player recruitment, imagine them attempting to get players in to strengthen this shite team ahead of a season in the second tier. :lol:

We need this to happen ASAP, so the new owners can get to know the club, know where they need to invest and know where they need to bring new people in. Some scouts wouldn’t go amiss FFS.

Donald has stripped the club bare in his efforts to drive down expenditure and he either doesn’t have the knowledge to start building it back up again or he just plain doesn’t want to.

The bloke’s a shit house and he will be remembered as the worst owner in the history of the club. A man who through his own ineptitude managed to anchor Sunderland AFC in the third tier for 3 (maybe more) years.
 
I stopped taking this thread seriously sometime ago. I do want a takeover though. Who are these ITK’s I should be taking notice of ?

If there was something tangible ... I could get behind it, but all I see is baseless conjecture. I fear that leaks emanating from the club are feeding a false narrative.
The killer question is who would buy a troubled club in the middle of a crisis? A club that needs a root and branch overhaul? With The price Tag of £37m.
Its a huge stretch

I get your cynicism mate. I’ve seen an email from this morning from one of the owners using the terms “shortly” for it all to be done. That’s what is driving my hope. Otherwise I’d be the exact same. Taking my mind off it watching the drama on CNN on an evening though, which is great fun. We just need to focus on other things and hope it comes off next week..

Took a team with 10 years worth of Premier League money and plunged them into the third tier in 100's of millions worth of debt before selling the club to charlatans using the lifeline parachute payments to effectively buy the club with it's own money.

They are fortunate to A) Be a league above us and B) Attractive to middle eastern billionaires where loss of revenue due to covid is chicken feed

With us, if and that's a big if theres actually someone in talks to takeover us they clearly aren't wealthy enough that covid is inconsequential
