Tagging other posters in post using @....

... noticed that when tagging posters in a post using "@" to get their attention, they don't receive a notification.

Is this an issue that can be fixed or is it a pointless gimmick that was never going to work?

Thought it would be a good feature (have been on other forums which use it) but it's utterly pointless.

There's an option for it under notifications so I'm guessing it's supposed to work.
