T20 World Cup 2024

Don't need Curran, Topley & Jordan, 3 into 2 spot does not go

On the positive front, still only need 1 of the top 7 to go on and get a 60 odd which is what we needed at the start of our innings

Jordan took 3 wickets today , just for balance

Buttler, bairstow and moeen were absolutely terrible especially Buttler off the first ball of Axars spell

He slipped on wet ground walking down from the tee box and his leg went under him.

I remember being at Royal Birkdale in 1991 and seeing Richard Boxall break his leg hitting his tee shot. It was bloody horrible.
I was watching they on tv with boxall

Reminded me of syd lawrence

It’s essentially impossible to get away with systematically chucking these days, at least in the sense of breaking the ICC definition. The definition is precise and numerical* and even if the ICC itself didn’t investigate, it would be a trivial matter for any competent university biomechanics department to prove he was. And I’m sure there would be plenty of British tabloids who would fund the research if there was any truth in the allegation whatsoever. It’s just sour grapes.

As to the idea that you didn’t get away with that sort of thing of the old days that’s bollocks too. Australia famously had two bowlers in the 1960s who never played a test abroad because they would’ve been called immediately by any non-Aussie. England had Tony Locke.

* - elbow straightens by an amount of more than 15 degrees between the arm reaching the horizontal and the ball being released

Losing against high quality spin is fine. But losing against high quality spin on a spinning wicket against a team who knew they would play a semi here is a bit tougher to take!

Would not have mattered but should have picked another speaclist batsman as don’t need 7 bowling options.

It’s absolutely ridiculous in something as important as a World Cup that India knew they were playing at Guyana whatever position they finished in Super 8s totally farcical especially considering the pitch would suit their spinners.

They have the best team and players in the tournament and then given that ridiculous help as well

But went for 37. At over 12 an over. Only picked up wickets due to them slogging towards the last over. He's not the only one though you are right. So many mistakes throughout

He did but for balance as well, it wsnt wickets that we needed at that stage of the game but to save runs and unfortunately was expensive. Still, at this rate we could be losing by a big margin.
