Netherlands is somewhat different as a comparison because almost all their foreign born players have dutch family roots but ultimately youre absolutely right.

The US foreign born players are not expats they are American citizens and as you say, that means they're perfectly entitled to play for their country and at the end of the day a citizen is a citizen and where you're born doesnt matter.

It just shows the maturity of cricket in the US at the moment but if the team do well hopefully it will get more people interested and playing in the US and make cricket a richer game.

The ICC has not focused on growing cricket globally for a long time while football has grown so this world cup is great.
