T20 Durham v Leicestershire

Rains looking a bit heavy, need to get in front of a ridiculous DL score.

It's gonna be even higher than 73 now. How is it so high when we only need 120?

Not that it matters, I can't see us winning this either way from here.

We've managed to get the run rate from 6 rpo to 9 rpo already.

I'd like to see one batsman just go for it and hope his luck pays off. We aren't getting anywhere with this negative approach.

Glad Taylors bowled out (whoever the feck he is)

Like this? Stokes seems to be playing on a different pitch to everyone else

And even quicker, back down to 6 an over

I fking love Gareth Breese. Get him up the order!!

He's the only batsman I can think of who consistently plays reverse sweeps, paddle shots etc so well. Most of the players who play them get out to them more often than not, but not Breesey. Although Breesey is inevitably going to do exactly that now

Imagine if we'd batted first and Smith etc hadn't got out cheap, we'd have had nothing like what this partnerships offering.

I should just copy & paste my comments from every T20 game

Tosh from Smith & Stoneman with the bat, left to Stokes & Breese to pull us out the clarts.

Durham batting averages

Player Mat Inns NO Runs HS Ave SR 4s 6s
GR Breese 7 7 4 125 32 41.66 189.39 16 5

8-)

WR Smith 9 8 1 73 14 10.42 115.87 6 1

We need Surrey to beat Middlesex but that'll put them on 10 off 8 games so it's not looking great for us.
We're alright if Notts lose their last two or Warwickshire and Somerset do crap.

Does a win on Sunday qualify us then or still need something else to happen?

We could really do with Yorkshire beating Notts tomorrow (or it might be Saturday).

At least we've given ourselves a decent chance of finishing 2nd now. I doubt 3rd place will be enough as teams in other groups are slightly ahead on points (damn that points deduction).

Yorkshire looked terrible against Lancs. Can't see them beating anyone.

You're probably right mate as their T20 form is not the same as their 4 day form.

However, if Notts win either of their 2 remaining games the best we can hope for is 3rd. For some strange reason the other 2 groups have more games to play and don't complete until Tuesday and Wednesday so it is hard to judge our chances. It's also a bit unfair that those teams will know what they have to do to qualify.
