T20 :: Durham v Lancashire

Great win for Durham tonight. The Lighthouse seems to cast a spell on the opposition while Raine is bowling superbly. Positive batting from the top order and our fielding was superb. We look like a team now and not an underperforming collection of individuals and we look hungry for success.

Roll on Sunday which could be interesting seeing as how I'm being accompanied by my 86 year old mother whose last full game attended was in 1975 at Ropery Lane watching Colin Milburn bat for Chester le Street and Mrs RT who openly admits to knowing absolutely nothing about cricket. Although she did enquire if 'that Botham bloke will be playing?'....it could be a long day.:eek::D

That was right in front of us.
Bushnell on as sub

Sounds like me that . :lol::p

:lol: Two boundary saves where the table robes moved .

I’ve been arguing with Brandon over it
Well there was one in front of the mini trapdoor stand where their fielder dived and *saved* the boundary but the sponge triangle jobbies must have moved at least a yard if not further, no one put them back either.

Table robes bloody autocorrect . Toblerones I typed

the stream was poor tonight kept freezing and only covered the pitch at times

Great day at the cricket that.

The women’s game was a lot more one-sided than you’d have wanted, with them being the top two teams in the table. Diamonds were poor.

Terrific performance from Durham. That stunning catch from Bushnell the moment of the game, though I also really enjoyed Livingstone’s 66W.

That was more like it, by the looks of it.

Of course, I wasn't there to jinx it tonight. Gawd help us on Sunday, because I am going to that one

Looks like we might have found a role for BdL. He can go for 30 runs in 2 overs if he takes big wickets like those two. Just don't let him bowl 4 overs and risk him going for 60. We seem to have mixed the bowling up better tonight and it's paid off. I remember somebody mentioning the way we mixed up the bowling with one over spells at Wantage Rd. We seem to have gone back to that. It meant we limited the chase to something the top 5 could pretty much manage on their own

Sowter and Raine prove their worth yet again

I've always prefered the Jeremy Snape take on T20 bowling.... one over spells and pace off the ball
