T20 Blast 2025

Has that just been added recently? Never noticed it before.
I think this season has been most of them wearing this. I think it was trialled previously

There have been incidents in t20 which have lead to suspensions so this is an added bonus for umpires if they get dodgy comments
…..

Yes, umpires in T20 cricket matches in England, specifically in the County Championship, have been using cameras attached to their chests as part of a trial. This technology, known as iHawk, tracks each delivery to gather data on line, length, bounce, speed, swing, and seam. The data is used to assist with player selection and potentially evaluate pitches and umpires.

Here's a more detailed explanation:

  • iHawk Technology:
The cameras, called iHawk, are attached to the umpires' chests and record data about each delivery.
  • Data Collection:
This data includes information about the ball's trajectory, speed, and movement, similar to what's available in international matches.
  • Purpose:
The trial aims to improve player selection by providing more objective data and potentially enhancing the evaluation of pitches and umpires.
  • County Championship Trial:
The technology was first trialed in the County Championship and is now used in non-televised matches.
  • Expansion:
The data collected could also be used to evaluate pitches and potentially assess the accuracy of umpire decisions.
  • England's Initiative:
England is reportedly the first country to use this technology in its domestic system.

  • Found this but it’s been trialled since 2023

Could change but after winning their first 6 T20 games, Northants look like they might now lose their 5th game in a row.

They looked like they were running away with it after 6 games.

Aldridge drops catch
If it had been them it would have been taken
That’s going to be difference me thinks
If you let Clarke and Haynes get away it’s very big trouble
Good big mistake by Clarke
Daft shot in circumstances
Can we have another 8;unforced errors please

Anyone know what the schedule will look like for the QF’s?

Basically which game will take place on which date?

Dunno who's playing who yet obviously but a QF on Wed 3rd, one on Fri 5th and two on Sat 6th.

Last year it was N1 v S4, N2 v S3, S1 v N4, S2 v N3.

They don't decide who's playing on what date til the group stages are finished.
