T20 Blast > 16.4

Three absolutely epic games so far in the Blast quarterfinals. Packed houses the last two nights (FTECB’s fault it wasn’t three in a row), completely electric atmospheres and highly knowledgeable crowds.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Totally agree, not just saying it out of spite, better games, better crowds, better atmospheres, and you can tell it just means more

Put one of those games live on BBC more people would watch

Also, Butcher and O'Brien are just a great pair of commentators

better crowds, better atmospheres

clubs that existed more than 5 minutes ago that have actual fans vs manufactured teams that have no connection to an area or the spectators

not really a surprise is it? to anyone with a few braincells (which obviously rules out anyone at FTECB)

The Hampshire v Notts game the other night was a brilliant game and fantastic spectacle to watch.

And yet the feeling was a sense of what could have been had the format had even a fraction of the backing the other one has had.

Been saying on here for years and banging the drum that T20 is proper cricket is fantastic cricket to watch, entertainment year after year.

It is great to see that people are enjoying and banging the drum of what a great game T20 is, you can see when watching how much fans enjoy shorter formats of the game.
The Hundred has been a “success”, because they’ve backed it. They’ve thrown money at advertising and PR. No one should ever pretend the format is superior in any single way to the Blast
Don’t think anyone could say one is superior to the other tbh, because there are more or less exactly the same and more or less at least this year players the same as well and the game only a few overs difference.

Well, one has changed the balls per over and fucked the counties.

The cricket on show is more or less exactly the same having watched both tournaments, in fact on the hundred thread people were constantly saying this is no different to the blast.

The cricket is the same in the following sense

- it’s white ball hitting with broadly the same players.

It’s not the same in that

1) the rules have changed for some unknown reason
2) many historic counties have not been included, many hundreds of thousands of people have no team near them
3) no one has a f***ing clue who plays for who or why. What’s Livingstone doing playing for Warwickshire/Birmingham when he’s a Lancastrian in other formats?

But most importantly, it’s been marketed to death.

Well, it is different as @chunkylover53 above has pointed out, but if it is no different, then what is the f***ing point?!
Well yes should have promoted the blast and spent the same money on it as ‘ The Hundred’ and I am sure it would have been a success as fans loving watching T20, always have enjoyed watching shorter formats and always will

Not sure it is much different though as only 20 balls difference and the same players

Well yes any shorter format marketed to death will be a success as fans old and new like shorter formats of the game.

I’m just not arsed, I lose track of who plays for who. I couldn’t give a fuck about franchises, what’s the actual point? See also: IPL

That’s fair enough mate, the way I look at it is T20 and The hundred are both very entertaining forms of the game and extremely similar, therefore stands to reason that if people like one they would like the other and vice versa.

Unless they want to like one over the other due to other reasons than the actual quality of the cricket on show
I think my issue is it’s either good quality on show or not?

Last nights cricket on show between Somerset and Lancs was a great watch.

If the same game and the same players played the same game for two hundred teams it’s still a great watch!

It’s not great because it’s the blast and shit because it’s the hundred
