I think the pond was built as a boating lake, so the toy boats win for me.

It used to make my laugh when I was a kid when all the old codgers would launch their beloved hand built WWII ships which would pootle around the lake, then some young lad would launch his petrol powered demon and rip around the place nearly sinking them.

I can still remember the smell of the fumes from the things, looked awesome.
