I Personally disagree.. You can beat a batsman in other ways or like Ashley Giles be very accurate and let the pacemen rotate at the other end.
 

is it the straight ball that gets more wickets for spinners now, with the review system in place?

Many a bowler has been described SLA (slow left arm) which is probably what you'd say Giles was - a bit of spin but more often accuracy and containment.

It must have been a quiet day in the Swann household and he just dreamed up this pearler for the sake of it.
 
Talk about hitting a man when he's down. Michael Yardy can't be too chuffed.
