SVP Real-Time video frame interpolation

I know this is not photography, but a lot of you will appreciate this amazing piece of video playback software.

I can now watch Star Trek 2009 at 60fps, which is beyond even the 48fps of The Hobbit! (Although the extra frames are interpolated and not 'real')

SVP allows you to watch any video on your PC file with frame interpolation (like you can watch it on high-end TVs and projectors). It increases frame rate by generating intermediate animation frames between existing ones to produce very smooth, fluid and clear motion. The technology is well-known for a while ("TrimensionDNM", "Motion Plus", "Motionflow" and others), but now it's available for free to PC users with simple GUI and just a couple of mouse clicks.

I don't even understand it never mind appreciate it. Will it enhance my porn viewing?

One of the side effects of the higher frame rate is that movies seem more 'real', so yeah, knock yourself out.. or off ;oP

On a serious note, because of this 'realness', people are complaining about The Hobbit's 48fps processing.. saying that it gets in the way of the viewer believing it's a fantasy.

Just for comparison.
Movies are usually 24fps
UK TV 25fps
US TV 30fps
Console / Computer games 30 or 60fps (usually, but can vary considerably)

Before digital and HDTV, it was a little more complex with interlacing and PAL/NTSC
