No Myburgh, seems a bit daft giving the lad a contract then not selecting him for an LVCC game, yet persisting with a player who has scored 92 runs in 7 innings  (average of 13.14).

Just noticed Myburgh has hit 70 for the 2nd XI as well today.

You bassa! I just come on to do the Game Thread only for you to have beaten me to it!

Anyway, f***ing baffling idea not to even select Myburgh. I imagine Wood, Breese and one other will miss out. Hopefully it's Muchall but it won't be.

Worried about the weather, which will no doubt again be a feature. Worrying thing is, Arundel won't be as well equipped to handle rain as say Riverside or Trent Bridge, so any wet stuff we do get could really hamper chances of play.

Atleast for tomorrow the forecast is canny. This really is a must win, trouble is its starting to get to the stage where a draw isn't good enough and it seems we're fighting the opposition and Mother Nature.

I'll be amazed if Muchall misses out, he seems to be an automatic selection no matter how shit he performs with the bat in the LVCC. Myburgh hit 70 today and took at least 1 wicket in a win for the 2nd XI today.

I knar mate, he must be noshing some fucker off. Just beggars belief why they'd extend Myburgh's deal and then NOT pick him for the CC. Seems like whoever is on charge couldn't run a f***ing bath at times.

I was hoping to go down for this but my boss has now decided not to allow me a couple of days off, mind hes probably saved me a long journey to watch rain!

Or perhaps it's because the only cricket he has played in months is T20 and a short innings on Sunday and he needs a couple of 2nd team games to get him into nick

Perhaps, that hasn't really worked for anyone else though. It's right in theory but time will tell I guess. Just think its mad to name 14 players with him not being one of them.

I doubt he'd sign a contract if he was just going to play 2nd team cricket a the CB40 games.

I agree with that, but I also agree with Mikemanc's sentiments. That's why I can't understand why he wasn't atleast in the travelling squad to Sussex.

As already said, he's in better nick than some of the first team. Will Smith hasn't had much cricket recently either, crazy how they had him carrying the drinks in the T20 when he could have had batting practice in the 2nd XI.

Seems daft extending the contract of Myburgh then not selecting him for the LVCC games. I think the majority would agree their would be no harm at all in giving a new face a game in the LVCC games.

It's more than he had a few weeks ago though.

I'm sure those selecting the squad will have their reasons as to not selecting Myburgh for this game, but it amazes me that some keep their place. Those in the squad need to produce the goods and good luck to them.

The DCCC Twitter posted earlier today saying Onions would probably be able to be brought into the game from day 2 if he isn't picked for the test match. Is this still the case with him not being in the squad?

tossing up whether to head down.

latest forecast suggests morning session should be ok, but then it will rain through lunch and afternoon session but be ok for evening session [assuming it didnt rain too much to soak outfield]

everyday more on less the same, patchy play. a result is very doubtful.

were dooooooooooooooooooooooooomed

Sorry if already mentioned but I thought Breese was only on a one day contract

He is. He's paid extra for any LVCC games.

Durham: Smith, Stoneman, Muchall, Stokes, Benkenstein, Collingwood, Mustard, Borthwick, Thorp, Claydon, Rushworth

1-2

smith out
muchall out first ball
