Was thinking of doing a day at the Oval later in the year so set an alert for the train tickets. Day return for day 2 of the game costs £158 return. Guess that’s knocked on the head.

Early weekday mornings is business knacker peak time. Shame the game is Tues-Fri.

If you are prepared to travel on overnight coach, it can be done for £26 return from Durham. Leave at 0020 arrive 0650 and the same timings for the return journey.

2 of us going down from Newcastle Monday afternoon returning Friday night. £25 per person with senior railcard. Train tickets aren’t on sale for those 2 dates yet but I have my prices locked in with LNER.

Ticket prices change daily. Look on splity ticket (or one of numerous sites that do similar) you can usually save a big chunk of money
