Surrey v Durham CC 2025

Nothing announced by the club (suprise suprise) but @GordonMuchallNo1Fan posted on the Emilio Gay thread on here on Jun 18 that he had been called up by Italy.
Yeah stick with me for the news as our official website is crap and has been for years. I'm down in London at the moment and it's 30 degrees and expected to be higher next couple of days, it's going to be a slog fielding with this stupid ball.

Was planning to go on Monday, but a malfunction with my water heater means I have got to stay at home for the contractor! Probably a good job with it being 34 degrees!

I'm sure that I read that Emilio Gay joined Durham as he hoped it would help him to get into the England team

Which he could still achieve, there are different rules around associate nations - hence why Eoin Morgan was able to play for England despite having played for Ireland at a World Cup.
Even Campbell doesn’t like this kookaburra ball experiment

Nobody likes it, even the Aussies who are over here are saying it’s a disaster because it isn’t suited to the pitches and conditions we have.
We're becoming a laughing stock of a club. Players coming and going as they please. Loan players both coming in and going out.

Who has been ‘coming and going as they please’?
Where's De Leede and McKinney gone?

International duty and an injury respectively.

Disappointed that the club still haven’t acknowledged Ned’s passing.
12 hours since Northants tweeted about it and still nothing from Durham. Sadly these days you just expect it from the off-field side of things with Durham as it's an appalling standard, especially their social media and communication

Hopefully they will. His family only announced it yesterday.

Northants and the BBC’s TMS account had something on last night and let’s be honest, it wasn’t exactly late when the news came through.

Maybe I’m being harsh. I just think his contribution to our journey needs to be championed.

Hope the lads wear black armbands today.

I think they will have black armbands. He was the first player (with Beefy) to walk out to the middle of Durham's first competitive match as a FC county in the Sunday League game v Lancashire.

Has to count for something...along with all the runs he scored for us after that.
