Gonna be another busy one with SAFC at home live music at the Sunderland Empire Live Lounge Fire Station Peacock etc
I noticed before the Everton match the Fire Station bar was open for the football crowd, not sure if that’s the norm but never seen it before. Maybe opened because the Engine Room was rammed? Either way it looked good and there was a lot in.

The Engine Room itself can’t be too far off that? Seems one of the priciest places in town. But they both do well so can’t knock them.
Said the same yesterday . People twist about prices but these places are doing okay .
We headed to engine rooms thinking it may be quieter to get served . It wasn't but they serve canny quick . Not sure why it was all plastic glasses . My round ,£50 for 7 pints and a prosecco . Just how it rolls on match day .

Maybe worth considering this

I saw it when launched
I'm only do there match days and not always over that way .
Occasional gig but I think the stuff they've had on has been poor for quite a while now
I know we all have different tastes but it seemed to be hitting the spot at first . For me

There are plenty of cheap places to drink in Sunderland, so let’s just be pleased that nice venues charging premium prices are doing well, and busy. It’s a sign that the economic growth is happening.
Drive to the top for once and not the bottom
Propa pies typifies this
Who would believe people would flock to a place selling £12 pies

Mash and gravy too ...
It's all about the experience and the visit etc . Yes times are tough but there's plenty of money about too . Find your space
There never seems to be a shortage of money. People always seem to have it when they need it
People like to say it but pubs a generally packed
Restaurants busy
Theatres and music events well supported

I think it's feast or famine for pubs and eats to be fair . We don't see their quiet times when they're still heating the place and paying wages and buying food . The whole footy ,theatre buzz brings a massive boost into the equation .
