I was drinking with a mate today who hadn't been I the city centre for ages and he loved the craic in the Peacock Engine Room and the Dun Cow.

Have to say, the number of freshers staying in the city and using the bars etc is very noticeable this year. Usually they disappear up the road very quickly but there seems to be loads about in 2024.

I had heard a rumour that the former HSBC building in Fawcett street has been bought by Newcastle Uni for students accommodation.

Often stroll to the town to do a bit of shopping and visit a few pubs then get a bus back to civilisation. Quite therapeutic.
Loads of drunken bell ends in Roker after the match. Early kick offs bring out the worst in people too often imho.

I did a click and collect for a pair of trainers in JD Sports a couple of weeks ago. There's a code you can put in their Web page that knocks 10% off any online orders. Spent the nine quid I saved on a couple of extra beers in The Peacock when I went to pick the trainers up.
