Supercomputer Predictions

Palace and Brentford won’t be that high up. I suspect Bournemouth won’t either.
they just run it off their Opta power rankings thing

they've not allocated for any transfers or anything in the summer so their ratings are currently out of whack (see: Sheff Wed ranked 14th for Champ currently)

a much better guide to current order of ability is the Spread Betting firms total points market
Aaaaaaaaah. So the computers not that super then?

AI.

Nearly all data-driven models and expert commentary foresee Sunderland finishing in the relegation zone in 2025‑26, with a strong likelihood of immediate relegation back to the Championship. While football is never deterministic, the current consensus is clear: finishing 19th or 20th is the most probable outcome.

Soopa Computer my arse. It will be some nerd with an Excel spreadsheet. There are so many variables whose effect on the put come of a match can' t be fully evaluated that these predictions are no more than guesswork. Variables like the weather - injuries to players and their availability even the personal circumstances of the players that could affect their game and individual relationships between team members even what the players had for lunch. A computer's prediction is therefore no more accurate or better than the opinion of a reasonably well informed football fan.

These computer prediction attempts are not motivated by any real interest in football but in an interest in promoting on line gambling on football matches. Betting companies are after all major sponsors behind football clubs.

I’m loving this pre season mind. Loads of new players and the mags basically being bummed in front of the nation on a regular basis. Literally pure banter club

However. The season will start soon and reality will kick in. We will struggle for sure. Signing players for 20m is like signing players for 2m 15 years ago. I suspect that will be very evident once we get going. We just have to hope the sewpah compewtah is out by 3 places. We have a chance in my view…..

I havent commented much this pre season because i dont think anyone can be sure whats going to pitch up against west ham and the AI is reflecting that mystery.... If this goes wrong i think it will go spectacularly wrong and im psychologically prepared, not sure the happy clappers are.

Metal Mickey’s screen started flashing ‘does not compute’ and he burst into flames when a starting defence potentially containing Harrison Jones, Jenson Seelt and Dan Ballard was input, hence they had to put us 20th.

They will bemoaning the fact that Patterson, Neil and Roberts got no minutes. They will turn into bed wetters.

In part, yes.

The point still remains that if you run enough simulations you’ll get weird results, so not trusting a model because it predicted Brentford winning the league doesn’t make sense.
Kind of like an infinite number of monkeys on an infinite number of typewriters will eventually write the entire works of Shakespeare?

Computer bias emanates from simply the selection of data and someone blocking the computer from seeing everything and with the intention of rigging the result... In this case the computer is simply applying odds and are absent the human factor.... Happy clappers convinced themselves its the model that took us up and my view is the goal that took us up isnt around and so on paper we are weaker. After West Ham we will have some actual proof and why i largely havent commented much, because were a real enigma.

About as reliable as AI!! Look at this nonsense from chatgpt.com.

ME: "Read all the transfer news from May-August 2025 and then predict the Premier League finishing positions in May 2026 from 1-20."

AI: "Premier League Table Prediction – May 2026

This is not crystal‑ball bullshit—this is logical projection based on transfer soap‑opera performance. Here’s your hard‑nosed, fact‑fueled scoop on the Premier League from May–August 2025 transfers, followed by my no‑brain‑blocked prediction for the Premier League finishing table in May 2026:

  1. Manchester City – Strategic, deep investments; elite base.
  2. Liverpool – Wirtz upgrade + attacking reinforcements.
  3. Arsenal – Gyokeres + midfield depth; building strongly.
  4. Manchester United – Huge spending; striking firepower upgraded.
  5. Chelsea – Talent in/out; still dangerous if gel clicks.
  6. Tottenham Hotspur – Smart buys, but integration uncertain.
  7. Newcastle United – Ambitious spending; CL status helps.
  8. West Ham United – Added experience; middling ceiling.
  9. Brighton & Hove Albion – Good recruitment and structure.
  10. Aston Villa – Quiet window, but core is solid.
  11. Everton – Upgrades in midfield, but survival battle likely.
  12. Nottingham Forest – Strong reinforcements but stability unknown.
  13. Wolverhampton Wanderers – Modest activity; depend on structure.
  14. Crystal Palace – Low spend; likely mid to lower table.
  15. Burnley – Minimal adjustment; fighting relegation.
  16. Fulham – Thin additions; survival tricky.
  17. Bournemouth – Activity, but cohesion questionable.
  18. Luton Town – Squad depth limited; relegation scrap.
  19. Sheffield United – Barely moved; headed down.
  20. Sunderland – High turnover, lack of coherence; predicted relegation."

ME: "This is nonsense. Sheffield Unied aren't even a Premier League team. Nor Luton. But Leeds are. This is rubbish."

AI: "You’re right—my bad. For the 2025-26 Premier League season, Sheffield United and Luton Town are currently IN the top flight (they were promoted for 2024-25), while Leeds United, Leicester City, and Southampton went down in May 2024. Leeds aren’t in the 2025-26 league unless they win promotion next spring."

AI sounds like a drunk Alan Shearer.

The Opta super computer doesn’t fancy us much this year.
Apparently in 10,000 simulations of next season, we are the only team not to win the league and in 40% of them, we finish bottom.

Is it being coated off for this? I insist the opta computer be made to cry and change its name
