Sunderland's new interim CEO Tom Burwell Interview

You lied about leaving your phone at home on match days for the good of your mental health so you could have a plastic card.

.
I never said anything of the sort you absolute psycho .
It’s not a lie tho is it. Both things can be true. They’ve done plenty right. There’s been plenty wrong.
Both things can't be true though. You either put fans first or you don't. The don't, and never have put fans first.

You might like being spoken to like a child by people who don't give a fuck about you, but I like to call it out when I see it

I've praised the club on absolutely loads of stuff over the past few years, you just chose to ignore it .

The till the end campaign, the signings, the whole "visitors" crack, the way they've helped tart up the city centre and bought into the new developments, even the emails we now get off Ashley Lowerson before every away game...all positives off the top of my head that I've commented on countless times on here. So your talking shite

I'll call out coorperate bullshit gaslighting when I see it .. if only all fans did then we'd have a club that actually did treat us with respect when the social media cameras are turned off

Wonder what/who the “national brands with regional relevance” could be?

Trying to think of brands that are big across the UK (but not necessarily internationally) that come from the NE are?

The proof is in the pudding

When fans need the club - like has happened quite a lot recently - the club just tell us to fuck off . This new bloke will be no different .. I don't mind that if they are just honest about it.

"Putting fans first and foremost" is a lie. You know it, and we all know it.

Calm down man.

Firstly he’s in an interim role, tasked with overseeing the restructure. Hence he’s not your long term target.

Second he works for the ownership company through which Kyril and Sartori own the club. This company has its own board including Burwell.

They employ executives for each of their companies including SAFC and they are charged with running the club.

He said that the stated objective is to remain connected to the fans. The fact the ticket office has continuously failed to do that suggest the executives in charge are not fit for purpose.

Let’s see how long they stay in post, but whether Burwell as interim or the permanent CEO appointment make that decision sooner or later remains to be seen.

However i wouldn’t like to be the guy responsible for the ticket office just now as he clearly doesn’t get it.

Fair points . Unfortunately for the club, the ticket office is one department they have that has a high turnover of fan interaction.

The social media stuff , the merchandising and club shop, the developments around the ground , the footballing side ...they seem to get it spot on, and it's all headline grabbing..

I think it's the nitty gritty , boring stuff where they clearly fail at 'putting the fans first"

…. Primarily the restructuring is to max revenues, let’s not kid ourselves.

However it’s clear that senior execs have had quite a free hand to run their departments how they wish without the day to day leadership needed to align with the clubs vision.

I hope it will see greater accountability for those who have gone rogue such as the ticket office as clearly they are playing of a different hymn sheet to other departments.

I know it feels like gaslighting but there is no logical reason why they would put so much effort into connecting with fans to then piss all that effort up the wall.

It’s counter intuitive…. But they need to move a lot faster than they are with it. Maybe waiting until we got established in prem was the catalyst to putting in the place the structure.

I think people assume KLD is all over the detail. I doubt it, he’s paying execs to run the club. He’s got his fingers in a million and one other things and lives in Switzerland.

Rolls Royce and Barbour are massive internationally. Surprised they listed them both.

I've read that, but I can't comprehend what the fuck it means 🤷‍♂️
Commas make it a bit more easily scannable.

Playing against the three teams that we are, in the three cities that we are

If it still doesn't make sense, remove the 'that we are' from each part as they are sort of redundant

Why don't people read the actual article ffs
I tried to read it. But it's so full of management consulting shit speak that I couldnt get to the end of it. "football club" "connections" "authenticity" "point of difference" "every way, shape and form" "authentic globally"

Then says we have to represent the fanbase - well stop talking like an arse and let supporters move seats without penalty. Better use of your time than talking shite about "1b, what's the next special sauce of Sunderland"

Like the idea that the head of the ticket office has gone rogue.
