Sunderland vs boro 22 Jan 23

@wev17 doing his best impression of a mag here.

Adamant that we care about them but when told otherwise, tells everyone how wrong they are.

He’ll be telling his mates he’s ‘clamped the SMB’s’ next.

Over thinking it mate. 🤗
You seem to have omitted Bracewell, Waddle, Johnston and Gray from our line up and the likes of Roberts, Whyte, Cox and Moore from yours.

Ah yes those 20 something players at their peak Paul Bracewell and Chris Waddle 😂

And my point is that we both had plodders and yet you only mention ours.

I mean let's have it right - you mentioned Alan Johnston who didn't sign until the season after.

Ben Roberts and Alan Moore for us who played about 5 games between them.

I'll keep you right. Our other players were made up of Mustoe, Hignett, Pearson etc.

Keep me right?

When we beat you at your place in 97, Johnston was in our starting 11 and Roberts and Moore were in yours, irrespective of how many games they played or how you want to try to spin it.

Naaaah, marra: I'LL keep YOU right.

Hopefully its a better game than the awful one at the riverside earlier this season, the standard of play from both teams was horrendous.

In my opinion Boro is a derby, but not THE derby, and anybody who has been to us v the mags would know that. There us a real difference in fans attitude between the two games.

I don't mind Boro and the Boro lads who have worked with have all been sound and you can talk football and when appropriate they can laugh at themselves as we do. This is in total contrast with the mags who are borderline psychotic in their belief their own superiority.

Good Job the same season at Roker when we played you - Johnston hadn't signed and Moore/Roberts weren't near our team 😂

Yet somehow Russell, Ord etc managed to draw with Ravanelli, Emerson etc despite Boro being more up for it.

🤷‍♂️

I don’t mind Boro doing well , so long as we doing well also 😆…. It’s nowt like the mags match at all , no comparison
However there’s often more trouble when we play Boro be it home or away

You had a few good players and some bang average ones, as did we, whichever way you want to look at it. You're talking like your team was streets ahead, which it certainly wasn't... apart from we had Gareth Hall, like. I'll give you that one.

Besides, I clearly said "over the last 20 years or so" and you're looking for anomalies from 25 years ago.

We had some excellent players. Far better than anything on your team.

Anyway, the point is Boro being more up for it having an influence on the result is rubbish imo. Plenty of times over the years Sunderland have beaten us with a poorer team. That's football.

It just happens we have had a good run.

I honestly think that that's why you've had the upper hand in them, over the last 20 years or so: because we treat it as any other game and you lot don't.

You seem to be ignoring this part of my initial post.
