*~*~* Sunderland v West Brom match thread *~*~*

West Brom got the 0-0 they came for. Rigg played well. Jobe was quiet, Neil had good moments then got caught in possession and underhit a few passes . Watson had a lot of the ball but showed his inexperience repeatedly cutting in and shooting at a wall of players.

Sheffield United will be tough but will play to win so we might get a bit more space. Would put Luke back in next to Mepham because he breaks the lines and starts a lot of our best attacks. Could do with Cirkin back.
Neil was awful.

Alese was too static for me behind Mayenda.I was screaming at him to overlap but hardly did. Roberts time is coming to an end for me. He really should have hit the target with his chance that dribbled wide. We just can't keep hoping he comes good.

I had Radio Birmingham coverage on and they were absolutely over't moon to get a draw. We are still a very tallented group and very very difficult to beat. Need to carry that forward .

It wasn't a bad performance but we lacking that bit spark we had earlier in the season.

Think we have to look at our wingers in January.
I think Watson could do with loan to get regular gametime (unless he finds his feet a bit more) and as much as I love Roberts we need to see a bigger return in front of goal.
Watson needs to bulk up. He's getting bullied off the ball far too often playing against Championship defenders.

Shows what I know, thought Neil was the pick of the midfield after a bright start by Jobe. I don't think Rigg is ready to be a regular starter, although I'm sure that won't be a popular opinion.

Did anyone create loads? Did anyone stretch them? NO.

Was Watson one of our better attacking players? Yes.

Does he have to work on his defensive play? Also yes.
Watson also needs to be stronger. That will come but he needs to do it quickly like Rigg has.
