*~*~* Sunderland v West Brom match thread *~*~*

That was as easy an away performance as you could expect from West Brom’s perspective. Their wide men look more threatening than ours. A huge first goal of there is one at all coming here, if we go behind I can’t see us winning.

We are raw and lack flair. Isodor
Is a good player but he’s not goal scorer, most of his touches are heading away from goal.

Massive second half here. The table is starting to take shape and we don’t want to be slipping too far down it this week.
Teams have worked out we’d rather play on transition. If you sit back against us we don’t have the players with “the keys”. Isidor, Mundle, Watson and so on want to play in space

Need to draw these out a bit as they're happy to sit in for the point. We also need to watch that we dont get caught out with too many up the pitch.

Have we ever been good at corners? I can't remember a time in recent history 😆

Need to play in front of them a bit and stretch the playing area. Were spending ages in the final third but they're just occupying the box quite comfortably, not going to get anything through. Need to tease them up the pitch a bit
Got 11 behind the ball and we’ve wingers who want to come inside into the traffic leaving the overlap to a FB on his wrong foot and another FB who’s a DM/DC. Chances are gonna be few and far between at both ends. Just hope it’s not Majas that goes in.

I think what he brings is overestimated tbh.

Carrying us up the pitch, the quick interchanges with other players in and around the box, the balls behind into the channels, the ability to control it first time, nearly every time are valuable commodities like. As Le Bris said, Rigg plays well with him. Amad did too.

It’s hard to argue that his crossing and shooting is frequently abysmal though. If it was anything like even half consistent I think he’d be playing in the top flight.

Roberts frequently fails to get it past the first man when taking corners. Frustrating really

need to change it up. We've got fuck all out wide Roberts is having an(other) off day and Watson is struggling with the men's game. Somethong special from Rigg/Bellingham/Isidor our only threat at the moment
Swap em over, tell Jobe to get his arse in the box and start to put crosses in

Reactions: PS
Roberts having a stinker. How come we are always so shit at freekicks and corners?
Started the season better at them but now look like the last few years and can’t even threaten with them. Cirkin our best for set pieces though with his runs at the far post

Commentators have got to be having a laugh. Making it out as if West Brom have done a great job so far. Like it was their game plan to come and get completely dominated for a half. Very little compliments to Sunderland for doing so!
They’re defending well and relatively comfortably and have carved out the best chance.
