*~*~* Sunderland v Plymouth match thread *~*~*

Poor first half. Nothing really created, but still looked comfortable. Early goal second half and we'll win 3/4-0.

As much as I'd love every game to be wrapped up by half time, some games it's gonna take longer to break teams down.

It’s like people don’t understand football 😂

They were always going to set up to defend and be more compact, hard to break down after the Burnley game. They weren’t just going to roll over after a hammering !

Take a scrappy 1-0 all day. Just get the 3 points, don’t care about pretty !

Leeds (3-0), Burnley (1-0) and Sheffield United (2-0) all found a way through this - essential we do too.

We've been comfortable but struggling to break down a well drilled side, we've had some good chances and probably should be 1 up. Need to move the ball around a bit quicker in the second half rather than allow them to settle. Not quite shite. We were never going to just rock up and stuff them.

Well drilled😂😂 conceded 60 goals this season btw

If this doesn’t change within the first 10 minutes of the second half I would personally take both Samed and Roberts off for Rigg and Mayenda. Samed looks very tidy, but I think we need to quicken it up in there and Rigg I believe will give us that. Mayenda for Roberts to get Mayenda running at them as Roberts has so far provided very little. That’s my tuppence anyhow.

How would you describe that first half then?
Completely one sided. Causing a few issues but haven’t made a clear cut chance. Some nearly moments.
Need to increase the tempo as we aren’t pulling them out of their shape to get more space.

Ballard for Luke might also be useful at some point for his aerial goal threat. Seems ashamed to waste the good corners and crosses from Enzo.
