*~*~* Sunderland v Millwall match thread *~*~*

Good Old Mike putting all the blame on the players again his post match interview - no blame on himself for his lack of tactical awareness or any modicum of managerial prowess to help the players from the sideline

Majority of the players too happy to let the game pass them by. They were shite, yet here we are again having lost a game against a team with very little about them. 20 defeats this season is shocking really.

They are very physical, didnt feel the officials got hold of that at all and then bought it every time they flung themselves to the floor. I guess at least this time they added 7 mins on.

This summer is massive for us, because if we choose to sell a few of our better players and look to replace them with kids again we'll be fighting relegation.

What I don’t get is the overly cautious tactics in a meaningless game. We should have been way more adventurous and at least tried to provide some entertainment for the 40,000 who turn up every home game.

Holding judgement, not hiding judgement- its a common enough phrase - I'm saying the first half has not been so bad that I'm slating the 45 minutes and good enough that there is no point in slagging the performance until I've seen the 90 minutes. If we win this the tepid first half is irrelevant. We've been on top but no end product so far so I'm happy to judge the game as a whole - the bit you get/don't get the points for.
Ha'way then mate....

....because 'Doddsy' isn't all that.
Taking Rigg off rubberstamped what i already thought of Dodds......clueless.

That was utterly utterly awful to watch.

I cant believe a full 60 minutes had to pass before he changed it. Adil instantly lifted our attacking threat but no one else had any impact.

Our style of play is horrific. It wasnt under mowbray generally speaking so i do wonder if dodds is unable to get a tune out of them... i may have to consider my view of dodds being good enough for the job!!!

Every time we play them including today, Saville and Honeyman are a disgrace to the point they'd seriously embarrass Howe and Simeone. Today though we were so pish that Cooper wasn't even diving in the box. That number 24 was a joke too.

Its like Stoke under Pulis, everyone knows they're physical and its their style of play so its seemingly okay.

Its more frustrating that we're not good enough to be putting shite like that to bed ultimately.

Even when Patterson caught the ball from their corner, none of our players were beyond our 18 yard box. Why not at least leave Clarke on the half way line. With other players busting a gut to counter attack.

When I saw the team today I was positive it was going to be four at the back.

Fair enough setting us up away from home against Leeds and WBA but against Milwall at home, what was Dodds thinking
